There may be hope for Shenmue III yet. At the Monaco Anime / Game Show, French TV journalist Sebastien-Abdelhamid interviewed series creator Yu Suzuki, who said he is considering crowdfunding to develop Shenmue III.
“Yu Suzuki said he is considering crowdfunding like Kickstarter to fund Shenmue III,” said Abdelhamid.
In a separate tweet, he added: “Yu Suzuki would also continue the story of Shenmue through anime or manga.”
Thanks, NeoGAF.
Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

An HD collection of the first two games would be nice as well.
I wonder why Sega hasn't considered it.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-03-2013 at 22:39.

I'm surprised a HD Collection has materialized yet; it would be ideal for testing the waters to gauge interest in Shenmue III.
I'm a massive fan of both games and would like nothing more than to see the conclusion to this epic tale.

I remember reading around 12 months ago or so (can't remember exactly when) that Shenmue HD had been ready for about a year, but for some reason it hasn't been released.
Hopefully we'll hear something this year, along with Skies of Arcadia perhaps...

This actually reminds me that Sega has yet to include Ryo Hazuki and his forklift in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. He ended up being the most requested DLC character on the Sega forums and that Sumo Digital would pitch it to Sega.
But that was, like, 5 months ago...
I think the Skies of Arcadia trademark renewal was for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Sega also owns the license to Shenmue so Yu Suzuki would have to obtain it first (which he talked about doing before), if he's considering a sequel.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-07-2013 at 08:04.
