Yes but if you were to tell me this is a current gen game and the screenshots are from a pc version, I'd believe you in a heart beat whereas the 'true' next gen games shown in ps4 reveal, I would know they were meant for next gen systems

I think there's some exclusive-bias going on in these comments. None of PS4 reveals were that jaw-dropping in the graphics department save Capcom's game, and it's still up in the air how much of that was gameplay (I don't care if it's "in-engine," as there's a significant gap between seeing something in-engine and playing it in-engine).

Anyways, I think these screens look great. It's nice to see that Square gave the dudes some production dollars after their success with Deus Ex. I'm very, very excited for this.

But .... it doesn't look next gen. So if it turned out being next gen, wouldn't it be disappointing?

Not gonna lie, the game looks current gen and very much like dishonored (the latter is good)

Don't mind if it looks current gen. As a stealth-genre fan and having not played the series but heard good things, I'm excited for it.

This! Dishonored was GOTY material. The ONLY game after bioshock to have such an immersive world and the controls were tight.

I must say I was in the minority like you. I felt I had to force myself to finish Dishonored. It was a cool game but it didn't keep me interested all the way through. I liked the gameplay but it didn't grasp me like most games. I would give it an 8/10 or so. It's been a while since I played Thief so I'm looking forward to this one.

I was supah dupah sneaky, knocked people out, climbed through vents, possessed rats and fish, and warped around so many times I'd make the new Infamous character blush. I also did the little side-objective things, like not hurting some chick's uncle and... what else? Bringing some woman into a chamber to send her off on a boat with her pervert sex-slave master? I forget. I just found the world so bland and dull.

EDIT: Let me just say I can totally see why others enjoyed it. There are plenty of games from this gen I found stare-at-a-wall boring that received tons of praise: Oblivion, Arkhum Asylum, Uncharted 3, Dishonored... the game just didn't click with me. Trust me, I TRIED to like it, I just couldn't.

Um, I feel like we're looking at two different games here. The texture quality in some of the screenshots look really good. I also don't think it's fair to compare it to God of War: Ascension since one is viewed in third-person while the other is first-person. The only thing I don't like about Thief's visuals is the color correction as nothing pops out.

Yeah same here. I rarely don't get sucked into steam punk games but this one just didn't captivate me like everyone else. The game had a really cool and creative atmosphere but it didn't make my list of most memorable games this gen.
