I thought this analysis of the Deep Down "Phanta Rei" engine trailer was worth sharing. They pretty much discuss its authenticity (real-time wise). I thought it was a interesting watch.
I'm basically 100% convinced that Deep Down trailer was a in engine after watching this. According to them, gameplay may not look this amazing, but they also mention that some segments in this trailer could be actual in-game.
I'm totally excited about how this game turns out, especially considering PS4 is now more powerful than what it was when Capcom created this trailer.
What are you guys thoughts after watching this?![]()

Yeah they pretty much just determined the game presentation was running on the engine and wasn't CGI. Good video.

Engine but not gameplay. Pretty simple to me.
I do like the visual flaire of this game though, and its theme makes me greatly want Dark Souls 2 on next-gen hardware. In fact that's what I thought it was at first.-No Feeble Cheering-

Great video.
I thought it was a little funny that they mentioned the clipping of the dragon's head through the column but didn't say anything about the main character's chainmail clipping through the shoulder as he attacked the dragon.
I also really liked that one of them said that you don't need all of those high-res polygons in Quantic Dream's tech demo but rather how you would use the hardware to create more realistic animations and physics.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-05-2013 at 03:07.

Yeah it was running on the game engine but it wasn't gameplay all the way for sure. There were some parts that looked like it could be gameplay like when they are walking through the cave. It looks impressive all the way around though.

Sucker Punch tweeted that most of the Second Son trailer was in game footage used with more cinematic angles to make it seem more trailer like. Perhaps the same was employed for this video?

Really? That would be an awesome new touch for others to go with game trailers. If this is true I say bravo for creativity. Making gameplay look like a full blown CGI trailer but it's actually gameplay at cool angles. I'm just wondering if that's actually true. If it is...this damn game looks amazing! I though for sure that was CGI trailer. If we have gotten to the point where it is difficult to tell between CGI and actual gameplay graphics on consoles, it's going to be one hell of a generation.
