For those who dont know what game-sharing is.... it's when you download a game under your PSN name, and then re-download it again on someone elses PS3. You can essentially give your friend a free game, and vice versa.
It could be done by either going to your friends house and logging in on your PSN name on their PS3, and then downloading the game. Or by giving out your PSN password to someone you trust, and letting them download the game on their PS3.
The last I heard, this was still available on PS3 but I havent done it in a long time. Does anyone know if we're still able to do this?
Have they mentioned anything about this being allowed on PS4?

Game Sharing on PS4?

Game sharing actually makes sense if they want to go the DD route.
Since you don't actually own a physical copy of the game, you should at least own the right to download it anytime you want. That way if it accidentally gets deleted, or you want to play it at a friends house, you can just re-download the game.

it is still available on PS3 but i think it is limited to 2 consoles no where it used to be 5. I do hope it is still possible on PS4 and it would make sense with the digital download route as an incentive to get it that way.

Something tells me that its not going to be an option on PS4. At most, as people already mentioned, they will let you give a gift to someone, but you will still have to pay for it.
Almost everyone will say: buy console that has games that you want, and those who say otherwise are ignorant.

I think they've learned their lesson with the PSP and PS3. Game sharing will be either completely stamped out, or made as difficult as possible.

I personally think (probably completely wrong) it's Gamesharing that has the PSN Store prices so high (£50 for ni no kuni.. when i can get it for 38 elsewhere), and i hope Sony can somehow make it less abusable / allow for reasonably prices.
I would hate to see it completely removed as it is great for multiple console families and such. But its mostly abused, and i dread to think how much money is lost through it.
(would also like to add, before people tell me i'm a fool to not just buy disks, my blu ray drive packed in about 2 month ago, so it's either digital or new ps3.. and at the moment im going digital)

I did it a few months back. But I think it's gonna go away. They're still unsure how to handle used game sales, so that tells me they're thinking on how limit these kinds of things where they get no money for a game. They see this as lost game sales, so I think they'll be going away.

I think it should stay.
The thing with physical copies, is you can take the game out of your console and bring it to a friends house.
That's why they allow game sharing. Since you don't have a physical copy, they allow you to d/l it at a friends house under your PSN name.
Some people abuse it.... but if they really want to go DD, because they make more money from DD sales.... Sony should bite the bullet and still allow game sharing.

I don't think sharing was the intent when Sony allowed you to download on 2 consoles. Especially since you can only reset what 2 consoles every 6 months. It was for the people that have 2 PS3s
Though me and my friend do abuse it. We have each others account, and take turns buying things, then we both get it and only pay once.
Microsoft actually has a good system for this. I can put my gamer profile on a flash drive and carry it with me. Then put it on a friends 360 and download the games on my account. When I take my profile back home and put it back on my 360, the games I downloaded on his console will no longer work on his console.
