Another game I shall be pirating. Fuck your 'always online' DRM.

Whats sad about this was that the server was overloaded for close beta also, you would think they would of fix that and prepare for the full launch.

How does people wanting more games of a specific genre confuse or worry you? What do you even mean by retro? The game itself only carries a franchise name, not game mechanics from two decades ago.
This will probably take a few weeks. All the coders who normally do the cracking just need to build an emulator to represent the server the game is connecting to. They did it with Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.Last edited by Rapture; 03-07-2013 at 18:00.

Pretty ironic how online-only DRM is implemented to combat piracy, yet it only makes the experience worse for the actual customers, while pirates will be able to play offline.

It depends on how it's implemented. If it's just doing a server check then they can simply remove that from the game code. If it's actually running stuff server side as you play then it is much more difficult, but they can create a server emulator that runs on your local machine to do the same thing. The same thing has been done to Diablo 3 which requires you to be connected to a server to play.

EA banning people for wanting a refund over the new SimCity?
http://www.analoghype.com/video-game...over-sim-city/
"Did you recently purchase Sim City only to be disappointed by the fact that you have to have an internet connection to even play the game? Well, you’re not the only one. People have been rather vocal about this. EA just aggravated the fire even more though. Earlier today, EA announced that they would be doing server maintenance on the servers. That’s all fine and good, until you remember that you can’t play the game if no servers are up.
After the maintenance, EA issued a patch for certain regions which was supposed to fix a few things, but instead made it so that nobody could access the game. That’s not good. Naturally, people are going to want a refund, like CalebPeters.
However, CalebPeters encountered a road block on his quest to get a refund over his recent purchase when an EA customer service representative informed him that he was unable to refund Caleb despite the fact that EA issued a press release stating that refunds would be available should they be requested.
Caleb promptly brought this into light, he even mentioned the fact that consumers who purchased from distribution services that weren’t Origin were able to secure a refund. When this was brought up, Adrian, Caleb’s CS rep, informed Caleb that pressing further into this matter would result in him encountering an account ban. No matter what Caleb said, Adrian continued to state that a refund would not be offered.
Of course you can’t necessarily blame Adrian for this since he’s most likely just doing what his supervisors told him to, but when you threaten to ban someone who purchased your product, and was prepared to sink hours into it, with a ban, that’s not good.
We’ve reached out to EA for a comment. We’ll update you guys if we hear from them."

If EA is as much a pawn to the shareholders as its made out to be, then its future is in their hands. I think i recall something about a majority vote of no confidence can call for a restructure of buisness. If EA keep this up, their quaility will crash thought the floor and fade away into obscurity, slowly killing it like a disease.
I actualy liked the Medal of Honor reboot, havnt played the sequal though but i will be getting it
Greyson Niles is a character name, Real name is Stoph. just FYI!
Looking for people with Headsets to play online with/against. Send me a Request!

IT depends how you go about the refund if you do a recharge through your card company/bank then even steam suspends your account.

I've had my steam account banned once due to this. Only it was a mistake. I had purchased BF2 and it wouldn't let me install it or anything it glitched. So I purchased a second time and got a refund on my first purchase of it. I had to go through customer support and it took a good few days to get my account unbanned and a refund for my original failed purchase.

This make me not want to buy any EA game anymore. It's a shame, they have done pretty good games.
