Naturally when I finally get a game that I am really excited for (Tomb Raider), my damn PS3 decides it does not want to read discs anymore. Seemed to me that this is the best time for me to grab one of those new super slim PS3 consoles. So I grabbed the AC3 500gb bundle for $300. Worked out nice since I only have AC3 on the Wii U.
Here are my thoughts on this latest model.
Upon opening the box I immediately notice the difference in size and weight. I also noticed the sliding door on top of the console wobbles and makes noise when moving the console around. Not a big deal since the console should not be touched once it is all hooked up.
The door itself is flimbsy and does not feel very solid. It opens on its own when you press the eject button. You have to manually slide the door to close it though.
Using WiFi, I tested the download speed on this new slim PS3 vs my 80gb original model.
Super Slim = 9.7Mbs
Phat PS3 = 7.1Mbs
I do not use WiFi with my consoles anyways, but this is still interesting to know.
My original phat PS3 had trouble with my Sony Wireless Headset. Many times it would make crackling noises and just could not keep up with the sound being transmitted. The newer slim model has had no problems what so ever.
I am currently using the Data Transfer tool built in to the PS3. I am transfering about 400gb of data to the new PS3 through the ethernet cable hooked up to both consoles. So far the transfer has been going on for about 10hrs, and is currently at 87% complete.
That is pretty much all I have to say for now, hope this info was useful to someone out there.

You could've saved a lot of money by, just getting a blu-ray disc player for like $30. And it's simple to install it.
Oh, I'm sorry did I break your concentration I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue. - Jules

I helped my friends transfer data to their new PS3 since they didn't have an external HDD. It was summer and if someone ran the microwave or something it would trip the breaker. We had to restart like 3 times. I didn't get out of there until early morning.
