They need to drop the U.S theme for sure, but since the U.S has such an unbelievable history and laughable government rockstar find it hard to leave it behind and move somewhere fresh

As I've said before I would love to see a GTA set in 1970's Ireland. So much history and violence there, it would fit perfectly for a GTA game.

A game set in Australia? It is hard for me to see any game set in Australia to be honest lol. It always seems to be US, Japan, China, or England. It is like asking me if I would like to see the GTA game set in Canada or something. Not that I have anything against these countries, but I just assume more can be done with the countries we are used to seeing.
Although I bet Rockstar could do some funny shit with a kangaroo. What if GTA went all the way back to the 1950's or older? That would kick ass!!!!!!!! I would love a game based in the US around 1950-1957.Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 03-08-2013 at 17:56.

I would love GTA to be set anyway apart from America, The devs have very little imagination when it comes to the setting of GTA which is a shame as you feel your just playing the same game over...n over..n over.

TBH I'm surprised they haven't done more stuff in the UK and Ireland considering Rockstar North are based in Scotland.

No, sorry.
If we're going out of America for the next one I'd rather London. I honestly expect the next one to be a Vice City reboot, as much as I'd rather have one set in a city like Detroit, Chicago or Boston. I highly doubt a Chicago one with Watch_Dogs going there.
Not saying I wouldn't buy the game if it featured Australia, it's just not a location I would pick from a list.

I feel like the ONLY place GTA games should be located is in the US.
The UK is a silly location. Being chased by cops that can't carry guns and drive Astras?
Australia is just as bad, although the cops there do at least have proper cars.
In Japan you not only have to deal with unarmed police, but you can have the added fun of 115 mph speed restricted cars.
No, I think if you're going to move it out of the US then move it to someplace that makes sense in the context of the game. Cuidad Juarez, Caracas, or the favelas of Rio de Jeneiro. Someplace where you've got some serious guns and police vs. gang action goingLast edited by Completely Average; 03-08-2013 at 19:45.

Seems like a lot of people are getting tired of the usa themes. Im the same, thats why i think australia will be fresh and new. Dont get me wrong, i llove the usa, but a little change of country could reallywork for gta. Australia has mafias and big gangs and everything. You dont see many kangaroos in the urban parts of australia, but you see them in the outback and parks. Sydney is mostly city, houses and roads. But whatever rockstar does its bound 4o be good.

I kinda want one based somewhere in the Middle East. Contending with IEDs should be lots of fun.

I wouldn't want it set here. Crime is way too sensationalised in the media here, with shows like underbelly, putting crime figures on a pedestal. I might be a bit too paranoid about the whole thing, but it's a no from me down under.

I'd really like it if they'd have multiple cities. This way, they don't have to artificially block off parts of the cities early on.

Agree, since it's so diverse in terms of personality and people, it makes for a better opportunity for a game I believe.
Plus it seems Rockstar are making a more true to life LA, which is pretty damn amazing for V and I think it's pretty obvious 6 will be Vice City again ( sadly)

it seems so, since past gta games and i mean the GTA 3 era... Never had the ability to fully explore NEW YORK, L.A, VEGAS, SAN FRAN and MAIMI
if they did, the games would have suffered.... But with their business model, it makes sense for long game making and since GTA IV is in the HD era and on more powerful consoles
it means the world of NEW YORK could be fully explored and so will L.A and that is why they have went the way of biggest city ever this last run for a GTA game on current genLast edited by claud3; 03-10-2013 at 01:00.

Here's a thought... How about we let Grand Theft Auto 5 come out first... then we start talking about 6?
