Not bad. I miss the PS3's start up screen. Why'd they ever change that anyway?

I vote for the PS4 logo popping up and Dikembe Mutombo running in out of nowhere and spiking the "P" down, shouting "No no no!!!" as he runs off the screen.

its ok.. too generic considerings its barely original and everyone else with Movie Maker could easily re-create it. Sorry for harshness.. but its just my views.
meh Probably just PS4, then its says.. "soo yer wonna share this experience" (it can talk) your like... well no? "I just want to play Sonic The Hedgehog 2." Sega comes in oi yo pay $1 for a Knuckles skin. "ARGH modern games industrie". *holds on to PS2, and PSone dearly till death.Hi~Hello~Rawr

Startup screens are iconic. If memory serves me right, Sega started the trend. The PS1 and Dreamcast were my favorite startups in the 90s. Xbox 360 and Gamecube for the 00s.

Sorry, hate that. The PS1's time has come and long gone. The startup screen should be something short, fresh and new. Don't get bogged down in the past with nostalgia.

The idea itself is a good one. A nice revival of the past, and if that's the road Sony wanted to take, the video you created would be an excellent start. But as everyone else has pointed out, we're in an age of speed and simplicity, where the idea of a start-up screent to begin with is starting to become archaic and unnecessary.

You guys don't get it, do you? The PS1 boot-up sequence is iconic because it reminds you of all of the great games that were released for the PS1. How will you be reminded of the PS4's potentially great games, later down the line, if it's boot-up sequence reminds you of the PS1?
Like I said, it's a new experience so I would expect Sony to come up with something new and unique. Potentially new consumers don't care about nostalgia. I would say the same thing for Nintendo and Microsoft.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-20-2013 at 23:52.

I agree with Blacksite - new generation of Sony console gaming means a new, fresh startup screen...that's short, since they're all about instantaneous startup for games etc.

I still sticking to the great PS1 boot up and that great era

Loved the PS3 startup, PS2's was decent and PS3's bored me.

I don't even see the bootup screen anymore, the console is usually booted by the time the TV switches on.
