I haven't played a Tales game before but I just don't like the look of Xillia. The flashy clothing, rock battle theme, boring dialogue and forgettable scenery doesn't do it for me. Final Fantasy, Persona, Dragon Quest and Dark Cloud games never put me off visually.
The gameplay looks solid though.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-09-2013 at 22:44.

Nice footage... The voice acting is not the best, but i do not think i would buy this game. Hate turn based games

o_O I didn't even know this was coming over. Nice
The VA seemed fine to me but hopefully there's a Japanese option

Voice Acting seems to fall in line with the majority of the other Tales of games. I've never considered the series to have the best voice acting, but it's definitely got it's own style to it, which I am seeing present here. Graphic style and everything else also looks good (as it's only out in Japan, I haven't taken an actual look at it before now).
As AaronSoldier stated, Star Ocean IV has the worst voice acting I've ever heard. This is much better. Sure, the dialogue is going to be cheesy, but all Tales games have cheesy voice acting. It's part of their allure (or at least, that's what I tell myself).
@Blascksite: I wouldn't write the game off too fast. At the very least, I would recommend trying out one of the games in the series. They may be a little cheesy at times, and the VA may not be the BEST, but they certainly have their entertainment value. Tales of the Abyss seems to be a crowd favorite, though I personally found the dialogue in that game to be one of the cheesiest and most painful to listen to. I'd highly recommend Tales of Destiny, an old PS1 game. I think it might be on the PSN store, but I could easily be wrong. Still, As I've said before, the Tales series is a very consistent series. When you buy/play a Tales game, you know what you're getting. Therefore, it is a very reliable series, unlike other main title series which practically split the fan-base with every new release. I can certainly see why someone wouldn't be attracted to the series though, it does seem a bit odd. So, I'd give it (or a different Tales game) a chance sometime. As far as I've seen, most people who have enjoyed playing the RPG series you've mentioned have greatly enjoyed the Tales series as well.

Cant wait for this, the only voice I didnt fully dig was millas. But its hard to really judge voice acting without cutscenes, at least for me.

Cheesy may not have been the proper word for Tales of the Abyss. It certainly has it's share (all Tales games do), but I think it was the protagonist's constant whining that really bothered me. So I suppose irritating is more fitting? It was still an amazing game though, absolutely loved it. As for the cheese tolerance, I'll agree with you for the most part. I certainly notice when it's there, but it doesn't ruin the experience. Game like the Tales series though are certainly ones that I absolutely refuse to play in front of others. Far too easy to get judged by friends/family when playing those games, lol. (Mostly joking, but I do refrain from playing them while other people are present).
