So, I was watching this weird event today. Seems a bit strange all this waiting for smoke to appear out of the Vatican.

First time for a thousand years or something that a Pope outside of Europe has been elected.

Yeah, I was glued to it. Watching people weeping was very strange. Looks like another one who is opposed to contraception and same-sex marriage.

It was real interesting, suppose it isn't something that happens that often, this is only the 3rd pope since i've been in this word. As for gay marriage; i don't see the stance on that changing for some time yet.

You'd think they would vote for someone who would allow the Catholic Church to catch up to modern ethics. But no. If it continues to preach hate and ignorance, it will continue to decline. Not a bad thing in my eyes, but it's a shame for the people who will be discriminated against.

I watched this too live on the BBC. Was quite interesting and history in the making.

They will not get long out of this one either, he is in his mid 70s maybe 10 or 15 at most.

Hopefully he can do alot of good and improve the image of the Catholic church it sure needs all the help it can get.

It was quite impressive ceromny and all the thousands of spectators all there to rejoice and be at peace. This is the very best of religion.
