You think so??? I dunno.
I was actually going to make a post about this, but I might as well just ask it here. How large do you really expect the ps4 to be? They are taking steps to combine chipsets so it requires less power and less cooling...all signs point to reducing space for components.
As far as I can tell it's probably going to be smaller than the original ps3, hell I'm having a hard time seeing how they could possibly need to make a slimmer version of it in years to come.

Not that fond of those designs too.
I just really hope the ps4 stays the same as the ps3, as in no popping out disk tray ( don't like the idea of the super slim either)

Personally the less is more situation is where they should be going. My 2 favorite console designs of all time are the original Wii and the original Ps2 tower, both where very simple but very cool.
Keep it on that track and we will have another winner.

The second pic. Why are they trying to make the PS4 have a low radar cross section? Will the PS4 be capable of stealth bombing runs? lol Sheesh.... kinda crappy concepts. Can't wait for the reveal.

At least they aren't using the Spiderman font again..that was tacky as hell and so blatant, never understood their decision to use it. Almost as bad as using Comic Sans.
Trophy-licious!

I think it will be just a slim black style and with a red or blue strip a long the side... or it could be just white

Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

I love the 2nd design so much. Gives it that stealth bomber feel, like it's got something to unveil under the hood..and it does..8gb of ram.

It could look like a brick and I woulnd't give a shit. I agree with Jabjab, I actually like the design of Wii and PS2. They do look like bricks somewhat lol.

I would say look at the PS4 Eye and the Dualshock 4 to get an idea of what the console is going to look like, in previous generations the accessories always reflect the console design, especially with the camera, just look back at the PS2 and Eyetoy, designs are very similar...so I would look at the new camera and start conjuring up ideas from that!

All I really hope for is a nice matte finish rather than shiny gloss... Gloss picks up dust, finger prints and scratches so annoyingly easy. Also maybe a rather robust cooling setup, there there have been a few leaps forward in heat dissipation technology that should allow the console to be relatively thin but able to pump the heat out. Having the APU design should help in that respect, with just a single main point of heat generation, it should be able to be cooled better than with a discrete gpu/cpu design.

Something relatively small and durable would be most ideal. I don't want to have to feel like I'm breaking my console every time I pick it up and take it to a friend's house, or simply move it to another room. Aesthetically speaking, I trust Sony will release something 'cute'. It's the durability and portability that matters to me.
