Over the past few years I have posted I have noticed the animosity towards the USA. From the forum members that continually bash the USA, to the post that make fun of the USA. But now the infection has spread towards your front page with your recent article, "Opinion: American teenagers, abuse and trash-talking killed online chat and team-work." Now I do not know if you posted this as a "troll" thing to get site more hits, and frankly I do not care, the fact is you posted it front page. Your little bold paragraph at the end of the article is just you trying to save some face.

Europeans, for the most part, just aren't the same as Americans from what I have seen. The mentality, behaviour etc is just different, more reserved...Europeans generally see America as a loud, obnoxious and in your face type country. These aren't my views of course, just echoes of what you'd hear in continental Europe.

This is why I like DUST 514 so much, cause its hardcore and these lil shits just won't come near it. It has an anti-noob mechanism built into its complex nature and thank fuck...I mean, not that it'd ever be an issue cause chat is only setup for squad and team...

I believe that it's been edited (Not the title though). I personally try to ignore such thoughtless comments and just focus on what's relevant to my interest. I honestly don't know why the article title is only targeting, Americans though.

There's a universal disdain for the US across the globe. You can't take it personally... just gotta get used to it. People will always say crap about another country they've never been to. Most of the time it's just garbage they heard from someone else or the media. Lumping "Americans" or "Europeans" or any other country together and generalizing them is just silly. Sure, stereotypes exist for a reason, but they don't apply to everyone. There's different types of people in every city, country, and continent on the planet. America is a melting pot of a trillion different cultures, races, religions, beliefs, etc. Many people come here from many countries for more freedom and opportunities that don't exist in their own country. America is a wonderful place full of opportunity, but we have morons, just like every other place in the world. America gets bashed more because we are at the center of the world, basically. I'm not saying we are the best country by any means... I'm just saying we are at the root of a lot of what happens in the world, so we're always under scrutiny.

There is always hate for the best things in life. Sure we have problems here in the states but it's still the best country in the world hands down. There are tons of people that constantly try to get in and once they're here they don't want to leave because it's so great.

With freedom comes hazards but I'll take the bad that comes with freedom.

I wrote the article and I'm not surprised at the response. There was a lot a thought went into whether to write it or not. In fact, I've been thinking about it for well over a year. It wasn't to just be controversial otherwise I would have just written it ages ago. It's a truth that many speak about. Online chat was ruined largely by American kids calling people "niggas", "faggots" and any other form of abuse they could think off. If it would have been English kids, I would have written about English kids. It's not an anti-American post. I work with Americans, have friends who are Americans and play online with Americans. I've been to America, partied with Americans. It's an article about how online chat died almost overnight. Sadly, the reason why it did was because the lobbies became full of American kids who just wanted to trashtalk.

I believe that, so I wrote about that. That's my experience of why teamplay and communication isn't what it used to be. I am sorry if it has offended you though. It wasn't my intention to do that. However, I do stick with what I wrote as being from the heart and true. As a gaming writer, I've vowed I'll do more of that this year as writing up press releases can be a little boring.

That's a matter of opinion and perspective. To me a country that is neutral in the worlds conflicts, pays for me to get well when I'm sick, offers me free university education, is rich in culture and doesn't have a gun loving population armed to the teeth is the best in the world.

But it is in away an attack on one side of the gaming community and it happens to be america and that is were this all comes from...

I for one do not hate anyone and this front page post is an interesting read to say the least... But you knew what the response was going to be and it got the hell of a response indeed, So will you be posting another on the English side

No, it's not a matter of perspective. It's just that some people don't know any better. I don't blame them since it's not their fault. It's difficult to understand or miss what you don't know or have never had.
