I remember a while back I made a thread in this section about a "Welcome/Welcome Back" section for the forum. What was the decision on it?
It would be a forum to welcome new members and have them post an introduction to themselves. The welcome thread has new members' post get buried a lot. It would also be used to welcome back returning members.
It would make the forum more friendly toward new members.

What was the decision on a "Welcome/Welcome Back" Section?
I think we said we were sticking to the official welcome thread. A forum would be repetitive (e.g. "Hello, I'm new" and "Welcome" for every thread).
In order for people's posts to be buried, there would have to be a lot of people signing up and posting, which isn't the case right now. Same thing with the proposed forum, just with threads instead of posts.
People who welcome themselves back usually post in the Off-Topic forum and that doesn't happen a lot either.
