Most fans talk about Need for Speed: Underground 2 being the best in the series. That said, do you think we'll see Need for Speed: Underground 3 on next-gen consoles like the PS4? Are winning races to earn cash which would be used to customize your vehicle with a huge assortment of parts in an open world environment still relevant?

Underground has been EA most successful NFS game. With under the right supervision, it could work. Been wanting this for years.
Oh, I'm sorry did I break your concentration I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue. - Jules

Underground was amazing for it's time. Do I care about neon lights, car graphics, and beats? Not really. I did like that ability to change my rims, ground effects, spoilers, and tint. I wish they kept that part of the game in Most Wanted.

I sure as hell hope so! They keep trying other stuff and I think it's about time they came back to the ol Underground and blow us away. They don't have 'alien tech' in their way now (if that was ever an issue) so I fully expext it.

I think that type of underground racing crowd(ricers) have kind of died out throughout the years. People finally realized "Oh snap, Civics are not racing vehicles." No matter how many decals or pretty spinners you put on the car, it's still a fuel efficient economy vehicle.

EA should retire the NFS series.

I think it could, and would, work very well. If they cut down on that silly ricing stuff, and provided more realistic and modest modifying, then that would be right up my alley.
Hell, they can keep the stupid neons and spinners etc, but please just also provide plenty of other subtle, mature mods. Ex: discreet lip spoilers and things like that. I love cars that look like sleepers, apart from small mods that just hint at its actual potential, and then only to those who know what to look for.

I think so, yeah. Earning any sort of in-game currency to buy and upgrade cars is no different to earning XP to unlock and upgrade weapons in Black Ops and look how well that game, or any of the Call of Duty games for that matter, sold. People love the idea of competitiveness and, regardless of what genre, people will buy in to it. For what it's worth, Underground was and still is the best in the entire Need For Speed franchise. I put so many hours into Underground 2 and would love to see a next-gen entry.

My personal opinions are not endorsed by PSU. But they should be.

I've been waiting years for the next Midnight Club L.A!
1 of the best racers this gen IMO.
The customisation in that was pretty good and the social aspect was brill with a load of mates playing capture the flag etc.
Old thread so alot of the pics have gone but here was the 'your ride' thread: http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread...A-Photo-Thread
Hopefully that will happen on PS4
Although I've bought all the latest NFS games, the only 1 that came close for me was the recent Hot Pursuit. Been quite disappointed with the others. Most Wanted on the Vita was cool but didn't really have much competition.

Underground 3 would work, but they Should Not make it like NFS: MW
They made a big mistake of making MW like burnouts, Plus you can't even get chased by the cops online, it felt boring and limited
Underground was much better as a single player but they should keep what Underground was about and not change it and add more things to it along with the online of course
I miss the old NFS games...

I don't think you understand the concept of "tuner-ups". Civics are tuner-ups. A lot of people tune up Japanese imported cars such as those made by Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, etc., simply for the fact of being able to do so(as opposed to already having an expensive, fast car that isn't really capable of tune-ups) and in turn, race them. Go onto Youtube and watch videos of tuner-ups smoking a Ferrari or a Lamborghini in a race. All of these tuner-up cars are pretty fuel efficient because most of them are 4-cylinder vehicles. But you'll learn that the cylinder amount doesn't really matter when it comes to speed. I myself have a 96' Honda Civic with over 600hp. The fun part is keeping the hp amount a secret, while making the other guy overly-confident that his car is faster. My friend's BMW M3 didn't stand a chance when we raced. As for a new NFSU game, I would love one. Although I do believe they should stray away from all the other shit that only rappers would do, like putting all these speakers in your trunk, leaving no room for grocery shopping(LOL), and the spinners and crap. Sorry if I made it seem like I was bashing on you. You are probably right about most of the newer models of cars these days. I can't see anyone trying to tune up a hybrid. But there are still new models that people like to play around with, even if they have made them bigger models over the years. Cars that don't really care about fuel economy. Like the new Mitsubishi Eclipse or the new Lancer Evo.
I liked Underground for it's customization level. Also because of the introduction to NOS and the way the screen would blur as you went faster with it. I play Need For Speed World on PC. It's almost like an online version of Underground, in terms of customization and having a large selection of Japanese imports. Only thing that sucks is you have to pay real money for all the good stuff, especially if you plan on racing against people with Lambos and all those high-class cars. But I guess that's just a simulation of the real world lol.Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 4 Days Ago at 00:51.
