For the rumored PSN/XBLA title, predecessor to Battlefront 3.
via Joystiq.LucasArts never officially announced Star Wars: First Assault, but it was scheduled to launch this spring as a multiplayer shooter, according to Kotaku. First Assault is still in production, but it's caught up in a company-wide freeze following Disney's purchase of LucasFilm in September, according to reports.
And it looks something like this, Kotaku says. The website has two pieces of footage that it says are from First Assault, both cut from a trailer used internally late last year; the gameplay video shows action mostly in first-person, though there are a few scenes of third-person fighting. It's all in-game footage, including a few bugs and incomplete art, and it is an "older" version of the game, Kotaku says.

There's a rumor they're working on Battlefront 3 now. I'd love to see that on next-gen hardware. I also wish they'd get around to making Republic Commando 2; the first game was amazing.

I think you guys missed the part where Disney froze their Star Wars-related content. It would explain why there are no updates on Star Wars 1313.

Yes. It's on Steam; grab it for 5$ or so when it's on sale. The game has aged in some ways, though I think it's still worth playing. The squad AI (you always have a squad of 4) was fantastic. I remember being blown away at the time because they weren't only just competent, but instead downright intelligent. They cornered enemies, took cover, sought turrets and health automatically, actually listened to your orders, etc. Probably the best friendly AI I've seen yet.

I just can't help but feel the Star Wars legacy is going to lose its touch. Could just be looking to much into it but I just don't want the brand to lose itself. Although like you said could turn out like Marvel did. That has worked out handsomely.

Well you could argue that SW is more milked than any current video game series. I'm going to pick on CoD because it's easy and everyone does it lol. SW has: movies, video games, action figures, legos, various collectable items, bed sheets, clothing and countless other outlets to rake in the cash. CoD comparably has very little sitting next to SW I believe. So you could say that SW is way over milked and has been for decades.
Anywho I would still like to see another SW game because it's been a while since I played one.
