The game will supposedly be easier to pick up and play—supposedly for the benefit of “Call of Duty players”

Which just may end up breaking the game and what EA has worked so hard for, only to be laughed at by true Battlefield players who will then trade their game in.

The dumbest rumour on that neogaf thread is PC locked to 100fps. That doesn't make any sense

BF3 is a damn good online FPS in its own right but I do agree with this. BF2 was just amazing and subsequent games have not been true to its epicness.

The leaked banner also hints at Shanghai as the setting.

I'm really looking forward to what they come up with. Love Battlefield. Only problem for me is EA. I don't want to support them and the way they conduct their business. I have a feeling ill be missing out on this.

BF3 was a massive let down and just a terrible game compared to BF2 and even BF:BC 1 & 2.

I liked battlefield 3 beta.i did not buy the game there was something missing from online.

Bad Company 2 was one of my favorite shooters of this past gen (or any gen actually). BF3 was disappointing though, I couldn't get into it for some reason. Everything just felt "off" about it. I'm a little worried seeing that the visual aesthetic of the BF4 promotional stuff looks to be identical to BF3. I know it doesn't mean a lot, but using the same look/feel means there's a good chance the overall design philosophy of the game itself hasn't changed from BF3 either, and that would be a problem for me. Still, I'm interested in seeing what it's like, and am willing to give it a chance if it's actually good.

That's probably the only thing that will excite me. But I do hope that these guys pull a decent game. I wasn't too keen with, Battlefield 3 after the changes they made (Online Pass, like usual; Lack of dedicated servers and giving anyone the ability to unlock everything for a fee). Let's not forget the staggering problems the multiplayer was experiencing.

Well, to me and many others it wasn't. In fact, it is my most played online shooter since CoD 4 and it already has a strong cult following. There's thousandth of people online every day almost two years after its release and Youtube clips keep on flooding in on a daily basis as well.

I never said it wasn't popular, and it has more than a cult following, its mass market mayhem.

brebaz and I were just speaking for ourselves, not saying it wasn't successful or people didn't enjoy it. I just thought it was crap

I don't understand the calls for another Bad Company game. Those games were just awful in comparison to the rest of the BF series. Especially BC2

bc2 single player shits on bf3 single player imo. I don't even touch the mp side of these games so I'm not speaking on that. I find the story more interesting and I want to continue where bc2 ended. It had humor and it was actually fun. BF3 was more serious and just wasn't fun in the process. COD:MW series outclasses it in every manner when it comes to single player. Bf3 was depressing-like and I'm in no way interested in bf4's campaign because of it. I want bc3 with the new engine.

Fair enough T. I'm the opposite I don't play any modern shooter for the SP in fact I wish BF had no SP and was cheaper but que sera sera. BF3 definitely had a worse campaign than BC2 although both were bad. Funnily enough the best mission from either was the first BC2 one which was set in WW2!

The Battlefield series has always been about the multiplayer only. SP is nothing more than an added extra mode (presumably as a result of EA putting pressure on the developers to cater to the CoD crowd).
