MS to talk down PS4 in Xbox 720 reveal?

Brand loyalty usually stems from the financial inability to afford all consoles and all games. People will develop favoritism because it's the only console they can afford to own. There are, of course, many other reasons... but that seems to be a big one to me. I'd rather not miss out on games for the sake of brand loyalty, though.

So when Michael Pachter said the Xbox 720 was gonna win next gen, we all dismissed him. He says Microsoft is gonna trash the PS4 and some here actually believe him.

I'd sure like to see what classifies as trashing. I figure that definition will be flexible and stretched a bit here.

I'm not tied to a brand. If MS doesnt impress me with their 720 reveal as much as Sony impressed me with PS4 then I have no problem going PS4 only. For now I'm just going to wait and see. I dont have the time and money anymore to support two consoles so I'll have to choose carefully the right one for me be it PS4 or 720.

I've seen dual console owners be fanboys. Being a multiconsole owner doesnt absolve someone from bias. (not directed at anybody in particular).

No. Both Xbox and Playstation fans dismissed him long ago. I refereed to the recent Xbox is gonna win next-gen thread and how everybody dismissed him in that thread..... yet many in here are willing to believe him this time around.

As for Microsoft has a history of trash talking? That's why I said the definition is flexible and a bit stretched here. When Gabe Newell raked Sony and the PS3 over the coals.....now THAT was straight trash talking! Microsoft and Sony have kept most of their comments about their own products and their minor swipes on each other never rose to the level of outright trashing.

To show you a perfect example of how the definition of trashing is stretched here.... when Major Nelson said about the PS4 reveal “Announce a console without actually showing a console? That's one approach.”.... THAT qualifies as trash talking?!? Many on here thought so. To say that was overstating his comments is an understatement itself. He was just as puzzled as many other people on here and in the press as to it's absence. Certainly the reasonable reaction considering you expect a console to be shown when the platform is being announced at a big private event put on by the manufacturer of it.

Grant it that the PS3 didn't get the boomerang controller or the extra USB/HDMI ports on the final product. But... at least it was shown at it's debut and the console otherwise ended up looking the same.
