Atelier Alchemist series? I'm interested in the latest entry Alchemist of Dusk (PSU gave it an 8 ) and I've been reading the official thread over at gaf and apparently it isn't related to the trilogy that preceded this game.
I realize that there is a fairly small community that plays this series but I would still like some opinions

I'm sure that's the one were you play as totoris apprentice.
Anyways Atelier Totori was the only one I played tbh it frustrated me. I didn't like you had a certain amount of days to do things. I'm the type that doesn't like to be restricted on what to do. It was fun though for sure

Time management seems a series staple.
I don't care about time limits/hard battles (apparently this one has some) or if the budgets aren't high. I'm just glad jrpgs are still coming to consoles and this seems to have good atmosphere/art style

There good no doubt. I thought the story was good. It just seems like it drags on imo but still I liked it.

This was the first time I played an Atelier game since the PS2 and obviously I enjoyed the game by giving it an 8/10. The game is based solely around being fun and is definitely not like a traditional RPG from Japan. Not much grinding, not a lot of big dungeons, and not a big world, but it is packed with story like a good RPG should. Anyone who likes RPGs should definitely pick it up.
Japanese RPGs will never disappear from consoles, it is just western developers putting more effort and more money into pushing western games compared to the PS2 days.
If you have any questions or comments about the review, don't be shy.
