I would like Final Fantasy to become an Action-RPG, because I want the battles to be seamless and less drawn out.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. I'm sure most core FF fans would not approve. Could be wrong. I think most in that category want it to go back to the traditional turn based.

Thisss. After replaying some of the older games, the fights get a bit drawn out by simply the animations. Would rather be "causing" the animations than watching the character "Attack".

He said Sony isn't buying Square, so this is all I can think of:

-A partnership that comprises of joint SE/Sony developed games
-The next main Dragon Quest game is PS4 exclusive
-A new exclusive IP that is more impressive than FFXV

Most likely the Joint venture between Sony and SE...it's no secret that both saw the height of their success when they were in bed together. It seems Sony is trying to recapture that magic..first by appealing to the Gamer first and worrying about the casual consumer after (as It should be) as they did with the PS1 and PS2. I found that early on the PS3 was seen more of a Blu-Ray player than an actual games console.

Sony seems to have learned this time around that they can't let the PS3 go almost 1.5years without its Killer App. It needs that out the gate .

To bad. I mean u can think what u want from SquareEnix but their (White?) Engine is some of the prettiest Engine i have ever seen on the PS3 so far. FF13 and FF13-2 looks absolutely stunning and has a solid 30 FPS at anytime. Now if the games would not suck so much we would have a true masterpiece and could look more optimistic to FFXV.

Amen brother. That said, I'm all down for having a separate FF saga that's completely grounded in action. Type-0 would actually be awesome if made into a franchise of its own.

I dont know...something in the vein of Kingdom Hearts battle system just seems like the natural evolution for the series...I mean XII came pretty close to it

1. That would be big enough to qualify as bigger news.
2. That would only be bigger news in Japan, where Dragon Quest seems to reign supreme.
3. Too vague and unlikely. What does Square have that's bigger than an FF installment worldwide? Other than...FF16! muahahaha.

With that said, I also don't want a game that has you mashing the X button the entire game. Seamless games can still have many strategic elements, such as using different abilities/attacks/items/etc, on the fly, as well as being able to switch characters that have unique uses.

And that's exactly what Versus' battle system would have been like. However, I understand the Kingdom Hearts games tend to end up as button mashers, or at least Kingdom Hearts II. So S-E would obviously need to make strategy more of a focal point.

Best battle system for a JRPG this generation for me has been White Knight Chronicles 2.

Not turned based, but not even close to a hack n' slash. Kind of MMO like in its gameplay.

I love Dragon Quest games and enjoyed Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2, so seeing Dragon Quest XI possibly make its way to a PlayStation platform would be pretty sweet. I'd even settle for a PS Vita exclusive.

KH BBS apparently has the best and most strategic battle system in KH series to date. I haven't played it yet (still waiting for HD ps3/vita release) so yeah action rpg =/= button mashers

Final Fantasy V13 aka '15' being exclusive on PS4 would be one of the best game exclusives from a third party Sony could wish for.
