Advice: games suitable for a 9 year old (rated 12 and under)

Hi, I wonder if you guys could help me. My boy is 9 and loves the idea of games like Unchartered and Red Dead Redemption where there is a mix of puzzles, tasks, action etc in an open world type game. Obviously because of his age I can't let home anywhere near these games.

Is there anything that you can think of that could fit the bill?

Hmm...it's an old game, but I'd get him Toy Story 3. Hell, even I loved it and Toy Box mode is where the money's at. You could play with him and it's something like a kid's Red Dead Redemption. A good solid 8 in my book.

Hmmmm...This is a tough question. I'll mull it over and get back to you. But Thor has a good suggestion in Toy Story 3.

There's a game called Infinity coming out. It's by Pixar/Disney and has open world and sandbox elements. Prety much absed the idea on Toy Story games' Toy Box mode. But in terms of now, Sly and LBP2 seem like good ideas.
    My backlog.

How about Little Big Planet, that LittleBigPlanet racing game, and Modnation Racers? What about Sly Cooper? It might be rated E.

Puzzle games but not quite as open as you ideally wanted but I thoguht they were worth a mention.

Echochrome - there is a free demo on the store and in Home so i am told. There are youtube vids but most are low quality.

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One if you want to play with him, and Trine 1/2 (Demos available) to name a few.
