Hi guys basically asked a tattooist what he thought of my sketches basically he said don't pursue it! What's your thoughts I don't basically want to put time into something I have no art in.

They're not good, to be honest.
I would try and pursue it though, if you enjoy drawing. Start from learning the basics. Human anatomy, perspective etc.
I would also recommend drawing something new from time to time so you don't get bored. I haven't drawn anything in a couple years but, before then, was really into drawing giant monsters (kaiju).Last edited by Blacksite; 03-21-2013 at 22:56.

They look chibish. Yeah like Black said start with the basics. Every artist starts out crappy. They eventually learn from their mistakes and get better. Keep at it if you love drawing. Gets some references and in over time you'll be better! I used to draw a lot myself.

Not terrible by any means!
Please keep at it if its something you enjoy, just make sure you constantly practice.
Draw every day, doesn't matter what it is, but it will slowly build up skills in one way or another.
I'll get some great links for you from my art teacher and post them in this thread soon
also, that tattooist is a fucking asshole. No-one is naturally good at anything... it takes practice. Ask any artist

Not entirely true, I only started doing portraits when I was 14 and I out drawed pretty much eveyone on my first go
Anyway you are right he just needs practice
His drawing aren't that bad, he has a eye on formation of what he is drawing which just needs improving, and thats something many people fail to have
And most tattoo artist can't draw anyway so just ignore them
But it depend on what level art ya after
Here one of my unfinished ones from last year

Looks different in angle actually lol
