    Silk road....

A link with a pic was sent to my email today...i think the pic speaks volumes. I was surprised, almost shocked to see how blatant it is. Apparently, the site makes over 1.2 million a month. Worse thing is, you can buy literally anything on there...has its own currency (bitcoins) too...is this sorta $#@! the future, the start of something more, or a $#@! you to the 5-0. Discuss....(hopefully)...

A little information for all of you. The site is legitimate and so is the currency. Actually, bit-coin is not really a fad and it's not really a "$#@! you" concerning the police. Not in the traditional sense. It does allow you to conduct commerce anonymously though so I guess in a way it's a "$#@! you" in that it protects your privacy. It is a viable replacement to national currency as it has it's own exchange rate that's tied to both gold and each major type of currency such as the dollar, pound, euro, yuan, yen, paeso, etc So in a sense, it's actually partially a big "$#@! you" to the central banks. I believe one bit-coin is worth roughly $65 U.S. currency or about 45-50 GBP or Euro. Do a little research if you don't believe me.

So could one hypothetically buy some hypothetical weed online without risk of being rumbled for what you hypothetically did?

    Hypothetically of course...

Yes. Though it's not hypothetically. Bit-coin is an alternative for those who don't wish to get screwed by the ever increasingly volatile currency market and central banks and is safe in that you don't have to sacrifice your privacy online. You can purchase completely anonymously.

Bitcoins isn't "its" currency, it's a digital currency that's used around the world unrelated to this. Mining it is kinda questionable unless you have bitcoin designed machines and even those take time to payoff.

You have to access it though a TOR client, which will encrypt and hide your ip from people spying on you. That being said, if it gets checked at customs you're probably going to be in some $#@! unless they deliver to a PO Box (most shipping companies don't).

    http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sites/silk-road

That is another good article other than wiki that also explains TOR.
