Assassin's Creed started out as a beautiful concept to show off the capabilities of the current generation consoles. They did a great job with the original, and I avidly played the ACII and AC: Brotherhood. None of the later games have been bad, I've invested several hours in ACIII, but it doesn't have the 'wow' factor anymore. I find myself complaining about ACIII more than complementing it, as each game seems to be put together more quickly and with less care. Perhaps that's just me.

The Assassin's Creed series is a good one, but it isn't one that I can keep playing each year. I would certainly recommend them to a new gamer or to someone who recently bought a PS3, but Assassin's Creed is not the type of series that should be continued after a few games, at least at this rate.

Yeah..this series is going way too fast, I didn't even have time to finish the 2nd one. But I cant wait to see what they can do for the ps4.

im pretty stoked actually. im a HUGE AC fan, have been since the first one. bought every single collectors edition, and probably can say that along with Uncharted this is one of my all time favorite series. cant wait to see where it goes next. (hopefully ancient china or japan, i would love to see ninja, or samurai assassins.)

Looked at it this way, Ubisoft our just in it for the Money now and this series is banking them plenty... They will continue to have a yearly release and this is a massive problem

Because you can go through all the time periods you want and hit historical points in time... You have to make the story appeal to all and make it tell a great story... Ubisoft have failed after AC2/AC3.... Because i know they had hit a peak then and now, they are just putting Mythical names in and Time period Names to sell the series

And this is proven to be a sad path to go down...

It's not even just about the games itself. Like I said, the Assassin's Creed titles are good games. I don't think any of them are bad games, but they're certainly not as thrilling as they used to be. Lots of fun? Sure, but far from the glorious days of the more ancient settings.

Two year release cycles, I think, are superior. Not only does this mean developers will be spending a greater amount of time on things that some games sorely need (i.e. Assassin's Creed III could have created a more immersive storyline or dealt with silly little glitches that occur), but it actually allows people time to play other games, too. When there are several games I'm interested in playing, I don't want to constantly be picking Assassin's Creed up and never getting around to any other games. Releasing a game every year eventually, at least, decreases quality and makes gamers like me with limited time less likely to buy them frequently.

I agree... But more than two years, maybe three would make the game worth my gaming time and it would make it bigger and more inviting to play

But at the moment it is just a kill game with no depth to it
