What is stopping you from doing blogs and/or vlogs? (as well on the side)
News article are cool but really, to truly present yourself and get people involved, you guys should really look into these things, at least a vlog.
I generally click on the news articles if they're important, I never click on opinion pieces...probably because I'd rather have the person say it rather than read it.
You can cut through a lot of redundant info as well this way and straight away get to the point.
Just my suggestion.

Yeah, this will be talked about quite a bit I feel...
It could quite possibly be that none of us actually have much experience being in front of a camera. Guess I should try my hand at a bit of editing, huh?

Don was thinking of doing something along these lines. Video content is important. I'm planning on doing vidcon for DUST 514 when I get my vidcap device.

Ok. At the moment, there are plans for a video show that I am running for PSU. I will also be doing let's plays once my pc is built in a few weeks. At the moment, I have a partnered YouTube show and am completely comfortable with being in front of a camera.
At the moment, I have plans to do video coverage of gaming events next year including PAX East. I can assure you we are have cool ideas and are working towards making them a reality. In terms of regular blogging, I'm not a huge fan.

Thanks.
Who cares! lol. Just do it man. I would think the only real issue should be that you guys can't dedicate all that time...and if you can't then that'd be a bummer because it would make this place a lot better...probably a much better niche than what's already out there.
Yea dude, you should totally do it. I like youtube videos people make about games, but i'd probably watch more here as I know people here.
Also it's a great way for writers/editors to have that human touch that is normally missing...I mean, I don't know any writers, don't know how they look or sound...what their views are...there's so much more to a vlog than a news article.
But not saying news isn't the way to go because that's the backbone of everything, but these additional things would keep people coming here a lot more imo than just news and we all know most probably don't even know we have forums here lol.Praise the lord! Next stop: Ni No Kuni.

As a PSU writer I wish I had the time to write more but writing isn't my main job and so it has to take less priority than i would like. As for blogs I have two but finding the time to keep them upto date is hard and to be honest I'd rather be gaming than writing.
As for a vlog I have a very impenetrable localised English accent known as a ' Black Country dialect ' so I fear for any audience listening that subtitles might be required !

I think I'm the only one with a blog on the staff. I just choose to make my blog a Facebook group page instead. I've got all my links in my signature. It is easy to keep track of my thoughts.
Blogs/Vlogs are good ideas but by not clicking on opinion pieces I think a lot of people lose out on some really unique stuff this site creates that other sites do not have.
As for video content, I'm currently in Japan so once I get a good enough camera expect to see some of the sites and sounds of Japan getting plastered on the site.Last edited by Lasombra; 04-07-2013 at 14:46.

I would personally like some videos in the vein of IGN's Playstation Conversations.
Trophy-licious!

I have a blog, link is in my sig. As for video, that can be time consuming and I don't have good enough equipment to be honest.

Video blogs would be cool, but I prefer written pieces so I can read them at work, which is when the majority of my PSU activity occurs. lol

Funnily enough, I was considering starting a series of weekly/fortnightly videos where I discuss topics presented by the general public. It was my intention to do this with the relaunch of a personal project but I would be more than happy to do an extra one or two on behalf of PSU. Or if not a video, then definitely a podcast.

My personal opinions are not endorsed by PSU. But they should be.
