    Must be similar thing to Windows hibernate or hybrid sleep which stores th data in both RAM and on the hard drive. Also makes me think that all games are installed or can be installed to the hard drive otherwesie its an extra few senconds for the Bluray to spin up to speed as well as the hard drive.

    Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops. While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you won't use your laptop for an extended period and won't have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time.

    Hybrid sleep
    is designed primarily for desktop computers. Hybrid sleep is a combination of sleep and hibernate—it puts any open documents and programs in memory and on your hard disk, and then puts your computer into a low-power state so that you can quickly resume your work. That way, if a power failure occurs, Windows can restore your work from your hard disk. When hybrid sleep is turned on, putting your computer into sleep automatically puts your computer into hybrid sleep. Hybrid sleep is typically turned on by default on desktop computers.

    Now that I'm reading your post, it'll probably be like how they have their new Vaios. I have one and it starts up super quick and when it's hibernating just opening it quickly gets me on my way

    The system would have to be perfectly balanced to have no bottleneck. I just don't see how that is remotely possible.

    Agreed. I prefer 30fps for shooters.

    After just finishing RAGE which was at 60fps on the 360, that game made me dizzy so had to take constant breaks.

    Exactly. Just too much of a statement considering the bottlenecks will be there. But like you said nowhere near the PS3.

    Thief and GGs own game, KZ4, are 30fps confirmed. Interesting question on your part though

    It boils down to developers preferring to extract prettier graphics from their games over maintaining 60fps. Whilst I don't agree with it, as I love the feel of 60fps - you can't slap on the back of a game box "..Best 60fps game at E3" or similar. It's just not a selling point I guess, whereas graphics are

    Hand on heart it does. 60 fps (at least for FPS/shooters) give me weird dizziness. In sports games and pretty much other games it's totally fine.

    Rage is definitely screwed up. So was the bf4 and uncharted 3 60fps videos. Idk what the correct term is but it looked too fast. I'd rather have 30fps too if they can't get it to look right. COD doesn't give me the feeling of those games. Idk what they are doing differently to not give it the same weird speed that's found in the other games I mentioned.

    I can understand some people not liking 60fps in some cases.

    For example, I hate 120hz TVs, I prefer movies in 24hz or whatever frame rate they come in.

    I think it may be a case of just not being used to it. We recently purchased a bravia TV which has some motionflow 400hz or some $#@! and it makes movie scenes look way too smooth that it looks fake? Not sure how else to explain it, but those were my initial reactions. But I've since gotten used to it and it seems fine

    You wouldnt enjoy GT5 at 30fps at first, it would feel weird whilst being perfectly playable

    That's how I see it anyways

    I can get used to it...the reason why it looks weird is because it's more realistic than what we're used to.

    60fps is more realistic than 24 fps. But what our eyes see, not sure, never looked into it but likely far more than 120fps even.

    The only reason I say that I don't like it is because movies weren't designed to be 120fps. But in the future, if a movie comes out with that frame rate then I won't mind. Something odd about watching an older movie on 120hz...I think likely because it's being upscaled (for the lack of a more accurate/geeky word) to 120fps or just that I'm not used to it.
