Biggest harddrive for super slim ps3?

Okay I have a couple questions..

1.) I was searching Newegg.com for the biggest harddrive available for a super-slim PS3 and saw the "green" western digital 1.5TB but saw a review on it that said its to big in actual dimensions? Using Playstation Plus I can see how fast my harddrive space will get used up and just want the biggest drive I can safely and effectively put into my SS PS3.

2.) can you stack the one year subscription of PS Plus codes so say if I buy one could I buy another 1 year and enter it in also?

3.) I was searching around and came across the official Sony Bluetooth headset 7.1 and a "Pulse" headset that's suppose to be the premium version ..just wondering if the Pulse one is worth it over the "basic" version?

Sorry for the questions..it's been probably 2 years or so since I had a PS3 but recently bought the super slim uncharted 3 bundle 250GB and trying to get back into the game.

BTW: if anyone wants to add me on PSN my ID is: ztmike

Just don't add me if you only play sports or barely get on and let me know your from the forums here.

The HDDs for PS3s are all the same size regardless of model - 2.5" SATA.

As for the biggest, not sure, biggest I've seen is 1TB, so long as it says 2.5" and not 1.8" or 3.5" you can't go wrong.

    PS+ is stackable so yeah.

    Dunno about mics.

Sorry if I wasn't much help lol

Also if you do not mind HDD to be outside the case you can use whatever HDD or RAID system you want. (as long as it connects to SATA cable.)
This increases the single drive capacity to 4TB and if you have SATA RAID the theoretical limits of filesystem is most likely in petabyte range.

ITs not the width thats an issue thats always gong to be the same, (2.5 inch/ 63mm) its the height. Old phat models couldnt be any more than 9.6mm high so use that rule and you cannot go wrong I say.

This is 2TB but 15mm high.

Well if the Western Digital "Green" 1.5TB drive doesn't fit in the PS3 looks like ill be stuck with a 1TB one.

The WD Caviar Green is a slow drive. I wouldn't get it for the PS3 if I was you. They are made to be used as storage drives that are only accessed every so often, not constantly like it would in the PS3.

If one needs speed go for either SSD or a hybrid drive if you want decently priced storage as well.

I think this might help the OP :
    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...-upgrade-guide

Don't go with a WD for the ps3, they have head parking for power efficiency, but that ends up making them slow and uselessly expensive for a ps3. Go with a toshiba or Hitachi, that's what Sony uses, so don't think you could go wrong with them, or Seagate if you don't trust the former. HDDs these days, are all pretty much the same quality (durability and longevity wise), so choose the fastest one with the most cache and the most GBs per $.
As for your initial question, the ps3s use 2.5 " SATA Drives that are 9.5 mm high, any higher than that and you'll have to mod the hdd tray of the ps3, and even then it might have trouble fitting in. The super slim uses a 7.5 mm high hdd as the default but it can accomodate a 9.5mm high hdd aswell, see here.

As for the headsets, the Pulse got flying reviews all around for its high fidelity audio, and the "Bass Impact" ((the headsets actually pulsate with the bass) feature is something you like or don't like (most people, however, do seem to like it), also, Bioshock Infinite has a custom audio mode for the Pulse headset, so it's definitely the better model of the two available playstation headsets.
I haven't ever used either so don't take my word for it though, just stuff I read around the internet.
No idea how PS+ subsriptions work, so that's about all I can answer. Cheers

The WD Green 1.5TB drive is rated at 5400RPM so how is it any slower than Sonys stock PS3 drive?

I had a WD with no problems. If you want a faster drive SSD is the only way, the 7200RPM drives have had mixed feedback, in most cases they're faster but in some cases slower, no idea why. Personally I'd just go with the 5400.

Maybe there is some confusion here but I'm not looking for speed or to mod my PS3 in anyway I just want a 5400RPM drive that has the biggest drive space, nobody here has said yes or no to the WD Green 1.5TB drive on Newegg.com if it'll work or not.

My 500GB only has like 80GB left and I haven't downloaded Uncharted 3 GOTY yet which is like 43GB.

750 and full myself. I dont know what I want to delete so that I can download Sleeping Dogs from PS+. PS4 needs atleast a 1TB HDD imho.
Some of these games are freaking MASSIVE and it's one of my reasons why a digital only model simply wont work. Who really wants to delete games all the time to make room to install new ones when you could've simply swaped a disk? It works for mobile devices because these games/apps ares pushing 20-30-40+GB file sizes.
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Get new 4TB HDD or a RAID array for it.
Something like 9TB on RAID5 could be enough for a while..

I just can't get with this downloading business. PS1/PS2 classics? Fine. Current games with a month shelf-life? Can't do it.
