    While we are talking about low-end PC's holding back nextgen consoles
    DF and a few developers confirms that even high end PC's while powerful may not be a easy match for nextgen consoles because the way they are made
    Now some people may not have to worry as their system is powerful enough but even so a upgrade will be needed to keep things nice and smooth despite their power
    This is not saying the nextgen consoles are more powerful, just that they do have nextgen hardware thats not currently available which may effect overall performance with games made for nextgen consoles and it'll be a good idea to upgrade when the time comes.

    32bit address space for memory allows only 4,294,967,295 addresses, thus one can only use it for 4GB of memory.
    If any program tries to go over this limitation the program simply fails.

    This is the reason why processors, operating systems and programs all needed to be upgraded to 64bit and why it was a big thing.
    The 64bit memory wall shouldn't come a problem for a while as it is 16 exabytes.

    just spent best part of 30 minutes trying to write a reply and then the site crashed as i posted it. Oh ffs!!

    Longstory very, very short.. Optimisation only takes you so far. Hardware isn't some never ending farm of potential power that never ends as long as optimised.
