No, you need to pre-order it to get the Japanese language voice overs. Otherwise, you can buy it. ( or at least I remember hearing that. I might be making $#@! up )

Sooooo I guess it is safe to say none of you played any Yakuza games? The Japanese voice-overs sometimes make the games more enjoyable.

Basically pre order and you get the DLC for free, just so happens that Japanese VA IS DLC. Kinda BS but if they couldn't fit it onto the game card then it's understandable. Just glad they actually giving us the option unlike those bastards at Namco Tales Studio.

And yeah original VA for the win, I can't stand dubs. I dunno how some people can watch movies with terrible sounding dub and the mouths WAY out of sync. Are people so lazy that they can't be bothered to read subtitles? Don't read so damn slow then you won't miss the action that's happening.

Almost all Japanese game with English voice over somehow feels ridic and weird. It's better to have Japanese voice over in these cases.

    That's why we have subtitles.

Well I watch a lot of Cantonese kung fu movies with tons of action and have no issues reading the subs and watching the action, but then again after 5+ years watching subbed movies and anime I can read a whole line at the bottom in like 1-2 seconds my eyes just roll over it lol definitively couldn't watch them dubbed, if I can't find an asian movie subbed I probably won't watch it unless it actually IS shot in English.

Kinda like some late 80s/early 90s Jackie Chan movies where they were actually speaking English but it sounded like a terrible dub:

Except it's worse when it actually is dubbed and there's no lip sync.

That's amazing if Eng is your second language and you can read fast enough to keep up with the subs. You'll get faster at reading the more you do it, kinda like when I first started Japanese, it was like being at school again pausing after every syllable lol

Thanks. It's still difficult. My wife's mother tongue is English, sort of. She came here when she was 2. Indian. Although she grew up in a home that didn't speak English, however, she's good at picking up things that I can't.

I require subtitles for some movies especially if they're in other English accents as I miss some stuff, something I don't think I can ever overcome. I'm thinking this is why it's easier for me to read it as I'm used to doing it. Also I grew up learning English (was in an English school) and so we read it more than heard it.

As easy as English is to learn, it's far more difficult to get to the latter layers of it, the vocabulary must be the biggest of all out there (which I try to learn), which makes sense as it's the most spoken language out there.

lol nice. I learned English by playing games like FF7, 8, 9, and 10. looking up words and understand the meanings. also learned English by watching movies and imitating accents. now I speak like I was born here.

so if something takes place in another country... you expect the movie or game to be in english? thats retarded. if the setting is another country i expect it to be in the native language because realism. not everyone on the planet speaks english you know?

It's kinda cool though. The way they made the whole menu of the game an interactive book I mean. On the other hand, what kinda' books do you read bro?
