Sales Revenue up 56% on last this time last year. Record profits for the entire company.
MS is doomed
Anyway, despite an imminent launch of a new console, it appears Entertainment Division is making money hand over fist, the 360 its self now has made all of it money back, and is in profit for the company as "investment" since launch. All in all it seems very positive for MS just now.
A couple of questions in light of this
1/ How much money are they making on every 360 sold now?
2/ Do you think they will have a price drop for the 360 at launch of the new console?

Nearly as good as Nintendo
By saving money on game development, marketing the 360 as a device that is appealing to more than just the core gamer, MS has done well to diversify its product and has raked in good money. Well played.

They are masking that 720 development cost very well[with the profits].
Only someone that doesn't have a clue as to what I'm saying would disagree You look so silly, rad. Hopefully that edit helps your lack of knowledge in this particular area.

Not gonna tell me why you disagree huh?
If only i hsd known 10 years ago to invest money in MSFT xbox division.
Maybe they next console will be hi end and sold at a loss as long as the 360 can make up the difference.
uuummmmm...Fried Beer iis a reality.
04-19-2013 #13I'm just saying in general, MS hasn't been investing as much money into games as Nintendo and Sony for the past several years. If MS had kept up pace with Sony, I'd wager the wallet wouldn't be looking so bulky.
I imagine Sony would have more inflated profit margins if it wasn't releasing a dozen games this year. Anyway, MS is in a strong financial position moving forward with income like that. It must be a nice feeling to have paid off your development costs etc.

Will they invest that money in new IPs?
Leave Turn 10 and 343 doing what they do.
There is of course Black Tusk and MS-LA and MS-Victoria as well.
Then there is Ryse, and Alan Wake 2 (hopefully).
What like (gasp) Ryse, or Black Tusks new title?
