    Dualshock 4

I'm sure a lot of this info isn't new to most of you, however they put it into a nice little video!

I'm glad they kept the design basically the same. Adding the curve to the triggers was a must and tightening up the joysticks is a big plus. It's perfect imo.

I'm trying to figure out just what they think that touch pad is going to accomplish that existing buttons don't already do. Swipe through menu screens? Buttons do that just fine today. The 'flicking' as shown by the video seemed odd too. What could I ever want to 'flick'...

    edit:
    That headset port looks proprietary....

I don't care too much for the touch pad either. The most use I can imagine for it is for mini-like titles on psn. They can be made similar to games on tablets and phones.

That sounds like a good assumption to me.

Coolest feature is probably the splitscreen thing.
    Trophy-licious!

Not too keen on the touch pad thing but I like the changes they have made in general.

Regarding the touchpad.. the first thing that comes to mind: tablet games (angry birds, fruit ninja).

But then traditional mouse applications came to mind - point and click adventures, RTS (except 1. person shooters. But ofcourse, right?). I imagine finally(!) being able to group-select stuff
    --intuitively-- in games.

I figure it'll be even better than navigating with a notebook touchpad, given the clickable surface.

And I'm exited to see how well mouse acceleration will work. Or if it'll even be added. I think the touchpad (and the dualscreen/lightbar thing) might be the greatest addition to a controller since rumble! /bold

I might be overly enthusiastic, but hey! Sue me.

That splitscreen thing is a great idea.
    I can read your thoughts.

Looking sweet to me. I would have rather the sticks been moved offset, but that would have interfered with the little trackpad thingie. It looks like it will be the best Dual Shock controller to date.

i cant see much use for the touch pad, but if they'd made it into an actual screen like a phone it would have been amazing.

There's two cons to a touchscreen controller though - price and intuitiveness. See the wii u controller for reference.

Really want to get my hands on this $#@!er. Still waiting on the "oh and it works on PC natively too" news. There's always hope

I think using it as a pinch/zoom for the browser would be aces.

    F the PS4.

(on a serious note; wouldn't be cool if you could play ANgry Birds on the touchpad while games install/load? )

Remember PS4 has a video editor for the stuff you record and i imagine swiping the touchpad will help you edit it faster. For example what if you recorded 3 hours of video and you wanted to quickly get to the 2 hour mark. Do you really want to hold down the d-pad to get there?

I don't like the share button, other than that I welcome all the changes. They should not write "share" on that when it's not a universal feature, you have to pay for that $#@!.

Link to confirm this please. I doubt they would put all of the functions of it behind a paywall.
