    The reason why Planetary Conquest is 16vs16

    To choose this number, CCP had a look at the size of the average corp in order to find a battle size that would make PC accessible to as many as possible and not just those that had perhaps enough mercs for enough to filly a 50+ merc team. 16 is the average active player count in DUST 514.

    I don't agree with this. Making it 24 v 24 would motivate corps to recruit members.

    You just need 16 to defend one district. Within a hour. so lets think you have 2-3 districts, so your 16 member need to be online at least 2-3 hours PER DAY. To defend the district.

    So soon or later, as more districts you got, as more people you need to defend those.
    So there is always a motivation to recruit more members.

    Yeah, that's right. 16 is a good number for now. There is plenty of other modes coming that will allow more people.

    OK, now I get it.

    So if we don't have corp members online when another corp is trying to take our district, they can just take it? How does that work?

    When u own a District, u can set the time when the district is available to attack. But it's at least 1 hour able to attack. In this time you need to defend it and also the enemy need to declare 1 hour earlyer that they are going to attack it.

    Example:

    U set the available time to attack at 20GMT
    The enemy wants to attack the district so they need to declare that one hour earlyer, so at least at 19GMT.
    War starts at 20GMT.

    So usually u set the times so, that most of your members are online.
    OR
    You have a 16man Squad which are playing in a totally different timezone so you can avoid being attacked by one of your enemys. But usually everywhere arround the world is some enemy that are available to attack u.

    An hour warning sounds like short notice to me. It would be good if we could get alerts on our phone.

    Very true. CCP already has a 5 year plan for content for this game. DUST 514 is a game-as-a-service so it will keep on improving and improving and improving. Content will be released every 3 or 4 months. Epic!

    thanks for clearing that up man, i was wondering this myself as im not on everyday.
    it gives all corp members incentive though, and that is good. would be nice if we could arrange for other sites to attack us and get our entire forum in on the battles to defend PSU's homeworld
