    Well that's your fault then.

I wouldn't mind paying 500+ if I got a high-end machine in return. After all, you get what you pay for (Wii U says hi).

I question the price point (if true) considering less custom hardware is being used supposedly. $600 launch PS3 has made these people crazy I'd say, lol

In 2005 the 360 (pro/premium sku) launched at $400. The equivalent amount in 2013 is $476.75.

Yeah, there has to be something extremely important to go beyond $499.... that's what will have to get me past that point.

    oh yea i donno.

it'd be weird if kinect is missing as I'd think that was supposedly integral. it might be the Live subscription. very likely to be the HDD...might even be the lack of BD but that's too radical and i think they likely won't do this and if they do, probably much later down the line. Though a rumor suggested that they did have something like this in mind but didn't go with it.

I'm thinking the cheaper version is just very very stripped down.

$1,000 is where I draw the line. You wouldn't need another system for about 10 years lol before it started to look noticeably outdated.

They are both same. One is $499 upfront and the other is a subsidized version at $299 plus $15/month for 24 months.

It would be too difficult to for devs to have to develop for different versions of the same console so the specs and the drive will have to be the same. Also, since rumors are that all games will have to be installed to the HDD, that will be on all models as well. I doubt the versions will be different hardware-wise

That's why you just pay the money up front and forget about monthly payments. In fact, you would be better off charging the console and paying the credit card interest than to go with the subscription-subsidized price.

You do realize that cartridges were very expensive, right?

And I remember seeing Goldeneye in walmart for $99.

Never said the specs would be different. Even if they have HDDs installed, they don't have to be the same size. That wouldn't make any difference to the developers.
