Makes sense since the gaming division is making money. No sense having the entertainment division dragging it down.

Them investors sound a little too 'gun hoe' to me. Almost as if they wanna take over rather than help.

He is the biggest...and has what...6% was it? I wish him luck with that lol. Well we'll see how it unfolds, stranger things have happened.

I doubt that. One side will just have to give in. Kaz is their best bet to get back to where they were, if that's possible.

Either way though. Sony is here to stay, no matter what these investors want and no matter how many haters want to see them fall.

    Long live the king.

Pretty sure Kaz doesn't have time to take care of the rest anyway. It's a good thing that now we will know how well the gaming division really is doing or how bad.

Within the space of a week, Sony has gone from ruling out Loeb’s proposal, to pursuing discussions about exploring the merits of doing so.

This discussion probably doesn't mean what you think it means.

Who has leverage at the bargaining table? You should ask these questions before dangling FUD around. You sir, owned yourself.

I think itís relatively unambiguous as to what the dialogue will be about; it is about a prospective IPO of the entertainment businesses (as advocated by Sonyís largest shareholder) to enhance the value of the Group and raise funds to sustain the turnaround of the business.

Considering the weakened circumstances of the Sony Group, Loebís track record, that his firm is the largest shareholder in Sony, and that it has forced a meeting to converse the proposal...and you query who has leverage?

Even more succinct is that since Loeb presented the proposal, Sonyís shares have risen 20% (the highest in two years and tracking ahead of the Nikkei), which is indicative that the market is positively behind the proposal.

That's funny, every report I saw about the stocks going up said it was due to Micosoft's disastrous showing of the Xbone. People feel like Playstation may be back on top next gen, and so they got more confident in Sony.

Iím not sure what reports you are referring to, but the business & finance news agencies clearly correlate the share rise to discussions of an IPO of the entertainment business:
