Heard that! I started saving up some time ago but between a new console and several games that I want I'm still going to have to fork over a good bit when release comes. Rrrrg. Oh well, at least I'll be entertained while I subsist on ramen and eggs!

In engine ≠ gameplay. I really need to see more of this game before passing any judgment on it and calling it amazing.

    ^What do you mean "why"?

He pointed out how he's not amazed because it's just in-engine and not gameplay. That article states that the visual fidelity will be the same during cinematics and gameplay. We're all amazed by the graphics and art direction, not by what we expect gameplay wise. Which he'd know if he had read any posts in the thread.

We also strived to create a seamless experience when it came to the game. The idea was to make sure that you never saw any visual discrepancies or breaks in continuity between gameplay and cinematic. Our game models and our cinematic models are one and the same, and everything is rendered real time in the engine as you play the game. The trailer we presented is a great example of that. What you saw is running in-engine, in-game with no gimmicks. These visuals are what you can expect of the final game when you play it.
I wonder when a nuclear warhead goes off, does the frame rate of real life drop?

To be fair, that's just a promise at this point. They still need to prove that.

Could it be something to do with circus midgets, a shower curtain, salad oil and a fork? If not I am OUTTA here.

Here's a video on YouTube that has some awesome things to say about The Order and things that the developers have said recently.
Supposedly it's fates but can't say for sure.
    What do you guys think?

There were a nice course 'Physically Based Shading in Theory and Practice' at Siggraph.

    Which had following presentation.
Crafting a Next-Gen Material Pipeline for The Order: 1886
They have quite nice textile scanning system and impressive shading tech as well.

Its looking like games are starting to go more movie like in the way assets are created. Some of the side effects is thats its looking like there can be increased variation between objects with simply changing combinations of shaders/maps on objects.
