Nintendo considering DLC for Zelda Franchise

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/...the-use-of-dlc

Series producer Eiji Aonuma has expressed an interest in exploring the use of DLC in future instalments of The Legend of Zelda franchise.

Speaking to Nintendo Life, Aonuma said, "We're certainly looking at different ways to add on content that would enhance the experience for the user maybe more places to explore or just to enrich the experience beyond what is on the disc."

But he also expressed the need to make such extra content meaningful: "we also have to take into consideration that if we charge for this content then it needs to be worth it for the user," said Aonuma. "So it's certainly a balancing an act, but I can't say that it is something we're not considering."
As long as I don't have to have it to understand what's going on, it's fine with me.

The 64DD was meant to provide that service back in the time of the N64... And failed and they are trying to pull the same stunt twice,

    No thank you Nintendo,

Why is gaming these days such a goddamn headache. 90s was the best time to be a gamer.

I agree. I wish the industry would do away with DLC all together.

Nintendo could never pull this off, because at this stage off the Wii U and all the heat on the success it is meant to be gaining over the rest off the year and beyond... Nintendo could not handle it or even afford it

As long as it's new content that doesn't take away from the main game (post-game episodes), I don't see it being a big deal.

Either way, vote with your wallet. DLC isn't all doom-and-gloom considering it's only a couple big-name publishers like EA, Activision and Capcom that nickel and dime their consumers.

NINTENDO are the only single company too develop an entire game from the ground up, that does not require DLC content and that is what makes them different from the rest
