Jeff Cannata "Ryse is the most next gen game I saw from either company"

    From this week's Weekend Confirmed:

"It is the most next gen game I saw from either company. . . . Behind closed doors the guy explained the game in a much more interesting way, which was basically referencing Batman. And they are doing performance capture. He said they are doing performance capture. Motion capture is last gen, performance capture is this new gen. It is performance capture in everything. In every moment you get performance capture. So you get facial in moment from actors even during combat.

It looks sexy as hell. It is very very next generation. The way it plays everybody is just like oh it's QTE but they let leak that there is a mode [that he did not actually play or see] where all those button prompts go away and your just judging which button to push based on the animations of the character and its the same button prompts that Batman uses. ... They basically ripped off Batman which I've been wanting everyone to do..."

"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?"

Jeff Cannata is definitely right. The game's visuals were definitely the best at E3 aside from maybe Battlefield 4.

Ryse's visuals looked great but not The Division great and to me Infamous:SS looked better. And didn't Quantic Dream use "Performance Capture" for Beyond?
It's funny that in this day in age people can steal as long as they have a reason too. Even if that reason is created by the thieves themselves.

The facial animations and some smoke in the background were the only things that screamed next-gen to me. The Division has a lot more attention to detail which is really impressive for an open world title.

dude, that picture made my night. you know, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. that picture is a prime example.
for some reason, i feel like stuffing an unrevealing yet obvious porn dvd case with goldfish snack crackers after removing the dvd and sell it to a gullible teenager.

Seeing it for the first time? Sure it looks good/fantastic, but when you actually go past the pretty graphics and facial animation? That's when you start seeing the short cuts they took to pretty up the game/demo

Every single battle that's going on down there is a duplicate of 3-4 variants! I'm pretty sure if people also look into dead rising 3 they may see the same thing

Yeah, I agree. Ryse looked $#@!ing sick. Probably best looking game so far, and now that they explained the ability to turn off QTE's, performance capture, and even those facial animations, it's just $#@!ing epic as hell.
