well, it depends on if the shop plug in required the plug ins we had to disable or not. Or if we can get the shop to work with other currencies, or points.

Really, we do not know yet what is causing the shop not to function. We still have the points system in place, all we disabled was the interest calculations on them.

If we have to replace the shop, one thing is certain and that is the icons will go away. I looked for a LONG time to find this plug in that allows icons to be displayed. Still looking for the another replacement, incase this one has to go.

It that were the case, it might be something that was changed that now doesn't mesh well with the plugin. That's a basic description.

I understand friend... But what if it turns out that the shop Plugin has to be removed and replaced, were does that leave all the items people bought and what effect might it have on the whole forum

We have already seen that certain changes and fixes, are canceling each other out and causing other problems

in essence, any items bought (icons) will be gone. They simply will cease to show up.

As for username customization, and that sort of thing, likely should go as well.

All SP spent on the shop, gone. no way to really reimburse anyone.

As far as "changes" to the site lately.. we have only disabled plug ins, not removed or added anything. So we will start by looking at what we disabled.

Well at least you have the points for the shop. It seems every time this site gets a redesign or I log into this forum my points disappear. Finally I said if they are going to disappear I might as well use it for stuff I bought a couple of the icon stuff and then those disappeared? I got 540 (not a lot i know) post and all I got is 300 points

They may already have someone on staff. Not going to step on any toes. But as we say at work, sometimes a problem just needs a "second pair of eyes".

Well, stepped through the javascript in firebug. Looks like there is an ajax call to a addtocart method in the server side code, but it doesn't look like the refreshShop function is getting hit so the item is not getting added. Not seeing any javascript errors. I'm seeing a "success" message when pulling the JSON, but then it just bugs out on the call to refreshShop.

you see a cancel of sorts is occurring and the bugs/errors are causing a complete mess up off things on the forum. One problem fixed and another one kicks in. It needs either re-coded or something needs done to prevent error after error

And i know that is impossible, but if it was fixed on a level were prevention can kick in, the forum would in my mind run fine.. Until a remodel of the forum happens

It is like it is aborting the call. Don't know if it is a code problem. Could be configuration. Would require a closer look at the server side code, but seeing how everything here (from what I can tell) is a third party product or add-on, that may be easier said than done. There are licensing issues to be considered.
