What is the difference between wired and wireless gaming? is there a huge difference that is gonna affect my game play if i use wifi coming from wired? I usually play FPS. I get up to 45Mbps of speed.

It isn't only about speed, it's about latency and quality of connection too. What's your ping? The connection oscillates too much? Make 5 tests using wifi (1min window between each) and post the results here.

In any case wired will ALWAYS be better than wifi.

short answer, don't play multiplayer online on wireless. you may not be able to tell the difference but there is one.

if it's just co-op, not a biggie but you will not be accurate with your timings...however competitive multiplayer...you might as well be ready for some whooping.

My understanding is that you have more packet loss and poorer upload speed with wireless vs wired. Use wired if you can.

Depends. You'll want to put your ps4 in a room that has a phone line or cable connection (depends on your ISP). Most apartments/condos are daisy chained so be sure to ask the person who installs your internet if you can put your modem/router in in your desired room

If you add my PSN say you're from PSU or I might delete it!

you won't get issues...but the issues it has are very difficult to spot. more difficult than lag.

it can be seen as input lag but it's not input lag. it's like the difference between dedicated servers and P2P servers.

or P2P servers that don't have host advantage vs P2P servers that do.

hard to notice it but it's there.

Note: if you don't play competitive games, you are fine. the lag isn't big enough a deal for co-op games from my experience. just when it is about a few ms here and there. i can feel it around 100ms (rough guess) of lag with wireless.

I have a question about the Playstation 1 emulator on ps4. Playstation 4 will be region free, thats great,BUT the question is: How European players will play playstation games? If We will be able to get this emulator and buy games from Playstation now then what's going to happen with the region? This is an important question because PAL like a slow motion movie, for example compare a PAL game with NTSC.There will be ntsc and pal version and We can choose wich one we want to download? That would be a mistake if we can play only with one version, but the greatest problem is: If European players can play with PAL version only, this will be a huge problem, and we won't play slow motion games. Some games are okay for PAL,only SOME games.I think if Sony want to make the emulator perfect, then I suggest you forward this for the people who can do something with that.Im looking forward for your answer.Regards.

PS4 doesn't have any emulators at the moment.

    What sufi said.

The game isn't being played via emulator on your machine. It's being played on a server far away, you just see the game on screen and play as normal.

Too bad if that's going to happen, because another update said the ps1-ps2 games going to be HD,and players can play it on the harder, and you can play ps3 games trhough Gaikai wich is for money. All I can do is wait then.

yes like gaikai, they are emulating the games for you but what i was thinking when you said that is like an actual homebrew emulator that you'd physically have on your hard drive in order to play downloaded PS1 games. which isn't possible yet but it might be some day.

as for streaming games, yes, that is coming.

If you have a PS+ free game on your console. You should be able to press the options button on the game and choose "information". It should let you know when the game expires. That would be your PS+ expiration date.

How do I get music from my PC to my PS4 to use for videos like the one Lethal did in the "video contest" sticky thread?

I want to use a certain song, but I'm not sure how to get it to go from my PC to my PS4 without screwing something up.

Does it have to be in MP3 format....b/c it's from iTunes and it's in m4p format or whatever and SHAREfactory didn't see it.

Yes, SHAREfactory only supports MP3 files. You'll have to convert your song via software like Format Factory or a website like media.io. Good luck!
