    unfortunately not im afraid.

the new controller does things the DS3 cannot.

however, the new DS4's are a lot better than what Sony currently offer with the DS3

its unknown at this point as people are still wondering how Sony keep the console cool

suffice to say it's likely the same as the PS3: remove one screw, pull out harddrive casing, unscrew HDD from casing and then insert in reverse order.

What videos does it support? On the ps3 not even all avi, mp4s worked. Am hoping for more.
and what browser and stream within broswer features? Any flash? For example, can i watch onechannel, putlocker etc? I hated the ps3 browser. Hopes its faster and better.

the PS4 OS is the only thing they've yet to show in detail (in fact we've only seen profile screens).

the supported video codecs are a bit of a mystery, but as you can upload your video to the net its a given that you can likewise watch video's on the net too

the PS4 browser should be significantly better...who knows, maybe they'll partner with chrome (fingers crossed!)

To elaborate, if the ps4 uses SATA III then an SSD will give you a performance boost. Installing one in a ps3 yields some small improvements but SATA III. I'm trying to find out if it is sata 3 but I can't find a reliable source

In theory the battery life should be much better than DualShock 3, as the capacity in DS4 is 1000 mAh, vs 570 in DS3.

Here's some screens/ videos of the UI

We now believe the release date for the PS4 is November 13, but that's a loose release date. Watchdogs will be a launch title or day one game for the PS4.

Safe to assume at least dual-layer. Some ps3 games are already dual layer. I've read that newer blu-ray drives can read BDXL discs (100GB) with firmware upgrades so it should be possible with ps4. Dunno how expensive the discs are to press though. You may see multiple blu-ray discs before bdxl

it will support hdmi 1.4, which is one of the reasons you shouldn't expect 4k games

How much of the 8gbs of RAM are reserved for the OS? Is it just 1gb like has been previously rumored, or is that info outdated?

This thread could be helpful if all answered questions with their own questions of course, were added to the OP, otherwise is useless.

the PS4 OS is one of the only things Sony has kept hidden (for the most part). it is rumoured to be running a version of FreeBSD which is similar to linux but gives Sony 100% control of the code they use.
    http://www.psu.com/a019968/PS4-to-run-on-OrbisOS

i wouldn't expect any more than 1GB to 1.5GB for the OS as that is plenty when you consider windows 7 can run at 800MB (though very rarely), and these are merely games consoles.

what we do know is that the PS4 OS reserves two of its eight CPU cores for the OS during gameplay. 'least when running on the devs kits. don't rule out Sony moving to a single core during gameplay leaving 7 open to the devs

members are supposed to BOLD text to make questions easy to find. perhaps the OP could add a reminder at the very top of the thread in bold and in red?

Gaikai will arrive after the launch of the PS4 for both PS3 and PS4 consoles.

from my understanding, you will be able to stream PS3 games in real time across the interwebs (this is what gaikai do) there hasn't been any word on what it'll bring to the PS4 specifically, but Sony haven't revealed full details on it.

what is most interesting though is this:
Sony has mandated Vita remote play on all games published on their console. Gaikai is to be rolled out on the Vita too at some point. there is every chance that the vita can stream your PS4 and PS3 games on the go provided you have an internet connection

so big blockbusters like Battlefield 4 and Witcher can be run on ye old tiny vita

It has been officially confirmed that you can replace the Harddrive in the PS4 as for how we can im guessing basically the same method as PS3
