Gotta start somewhere, also there is a skate area next to the beach not far from me. Lets keep this alive and track my progress, tomorrow will be my first attempts on the board. Got a helmet too.

Helmets and pads are important for beginning. Nothing will stop you faster then a nasty fall.

Also in regards to that, trying a new trick can also be delayed if you fall a lot on that trick, but you just got to power through it. I probably smashed the ground hard about a dozen times before I got rolling drop-ins down.

Haha, funny story. It took me 3 years of skating street spots before i had the courage to drop into a 4' mini ramp I hated it, it feels so unnatural.

Put a 7 set in front of me though and i'll make that my $#@!

Just remember, the more time you are on the board, doing anything, is building your stability on the board. Psssh, goofy all the way for me.

Dropping in was a very scary thing to get used to doing. But now I can drop in on anything, even some 8 foot vert stuff. Rolling drop ins are still only on about 5 foot ramps. The amount of punishment I've taken to get that far keeps me off higher ramps. lol

I'm fine with skating up the ramp and pivoting, it's just the initial drop in that i disliked. I'm cool with it now but i still won't skate something above 6 foot confidently.

There is a 4' 'W' ramp a few miles away from me, that is damn fun to skate.

helmet and pads weren't the "in" thing back in my day... 1990's. Man, the amount of injuries we had back then lol. If there were cell phones and digital cameras, we'd have some epic footage of wounds of "war" lol.

Some parks actually require a helmet to be worn. If security rides by and sees you with a helmet, they have the right to boot you from the park. Thats the park in the video I posted.

I've had some minor injuries like losing a patch of skin to the concrete, to more serious injuries like ankle breaking. I once fell from the top of a vert wall, and landed on my shoe so hard, the laces got cut.

That's expensive for a blind board great getting it to 40$, glad you found a set up . Wheels and bearings plus the tool are good specially for the price. What tucks you planning on getting?

Any one remember this game in the arcade? If you grew up in the late 80's or early 90's and skateboarded you should know this game!

My local skate park. Man its changed since I went there, the part at 3:15 was a wall ride and not a quarter pipe with coping.
Bakc when it was the wall ride I rode it high as $#@! looked down and fell off laading onto my up pointed handle bars.
OUCH!!!! I had to sit down for a bit.

    P.S
Not me in video I have long since given up.

Actually I do. They're a mix between a skateboard and a longboard I enjoy them for cruising down hills. I'm not good enough to tricks on them. It seems almost impossible. :/ Will you be recording your skate sessions? I personally would like to see them.

Remember that i'm going to die is the best way I know to avoid trap of thinking you have something to lose, you're already naked, there's no reason not to follow your heart.

The Blind board was a complete, I only upgraded the wheels to make it easier in the beginning to ride less even surfaces.
Globe cruiser wheels on a trick deck.

So first hour ever on the board and I sucked major ass.

Firstly I think I may need to loosen the trucks, trying to push off I had no control and was destined to go dead ahead.
Secondly the board is very difficult, I can't even lift one foot without it wanting to go in some direction.

I tried doing a simple push off and my best score is probably 20cm.
Even tho I didn't fall i'm going to get knee and elbow pads.

Riding a board really targets your balance and core. Far more than a bike, scooter or blades.

Practice spinning on the back trucks stationary. 180 degrees then try 360 degrees both clockwise and anti clockwise (front side and backside although depends which way you ride) will help get your balance and control up.
After a short while You should be able to move fowards by wiggling the board around without putting foot down to push kind of like those snake boards.
