Why has cinemablend started to write about games all of a sudden? Weird.

At $500 would still be good value for me, but I'm not about to complain at the current cheaper price.

Do you hear that? It's the sound of a 100Million+ generation party and we're at the front door with six packs of beer and some crazy fresh dody for the occasion.

Either way at $500 I would be getting a ps4... I don't think kinect is even fun and the $100 more expensive price tag with less powerful hardware makes absolutely no sense.

less powerful? Iv'e still seen no proof of that. PS3 launched at $600 and had even less technology and a subpar lineup of games.

Yes it has a subpar gpu with only 12 compute units. Based on compute units only its between a radeon hd 7790 and a hd 7770. The ps4 gpu is between a 7850 and 7870 which is a major upgrade in pc graphic terms.

55% for PS4 to 45% for Xbox One. The title is misleading. The demand for both consoles are very much identical.

Yeah at $499 I'll just wait till price drop one's and yep it's called a preference. So this is pretty much a moot point.

I'm terms of C U and gpu and memory the ps4 is more powerful.

In xbox fans minds the xbone has the cloud and lots of magic sauce that make it just as powerful if not more.

The ps3 had way more technology. Blue ray, hard drive, bluetooth etc...

But they did have a $#@! lineup for games.

The CELL tech developed by IBM, Toshiba and Sony on a half billion dollar budget in PS3 was way ahead of its time. It also introduced Blu-ray into the console. What lesser technology are you referring to? The CELL CPU in the PS3 had 3 times the FLOPS performance of the original 360. It was only until MS released the newer model that the numbers became closer. I understand you're trying to defend MS, but don't be silly.
"The biggest adversary in our life is ourselves. We are what we are, in a sense, because of the dominating thoughts we allow to gather in our head. All concepts of self-improvement, all actions and paths we take, relate solely to our abstract image of ourselves. Life is limited only by how we really see ourselves and feel about our being. A great deal of pure self-knowledge and inner understanding allows us to lay an all-important foundation for the structure of our life from which we can perceive and take the right avenues.

No surprise. More powerful hardware for 100 dollars less. No peripheral being forced on you.

right, and why compare technology costs from 6 years ago to today? Doesn't make sense.

Best controller, $100 cheaper, more powerful, smaller, no power brick, free games with PS+, free tv apps, headset in the box, optional camera.
This will be a hard pill for some to swallow but MS tried to $#@! us over hard. We will never forget that and they will perish.
100+Million console sales for PS4 am confirmed.

Is the Xbone even releasing in Japan?

Being real for a second what makes people think the rest of everyone cares about CPU vs CPU or even the GPU vs GPU in Xbone and PS4.

Reality is graphics won't matter in the long run it's always like this use graphics to flex muscles that's about it. Going to matter with the games coming out and if they're worth a damn to most people.

Personally never heard of Polar, nor indeed cinemablend, I suspect polar are probably paying cinema blend for a planted article.

Their sample size is tiny, so all their claims of being more representative of the "casual" market than IGN or GAMEspot or whatever polls is just hot air.

Never the less the article needs updating.

The poll on if ps4 was $500, is now :

    83 switch to Xbox.

277 still buying ps4 day one.

    So if 100% = 360 buyers

    Therefore:

    23% Xbox one

    77% PS4.

The real killer here is MS boxing Kinect with every X1. If they left that separate and didn't force it on everyone their machine could sell for much less. The idea of choice is one I welcome, and I think they would gain a bit more popularity if they allowed consumers to choose. Currently with the 360 you have a choice at purchase, buy a bundle with Kinect or without and save yourself a few bucks.

Frankly, until MS comes out and states. "You do NOT need Kinect to play X1 games.", they can keep their machine as I have ZERO interest in that crap.

yeah, I seem to remember MS and their most die-hard fans bragging about "choice" at one point this gen. Remember HD DVD? Remember blu-ray being "forced" on PS3 customers? Uh...yeah...about that....

Yup. Microsoft gave the consumer an option to have HD-DVD. Microsoft gave the consumer an option to have an HDD. Microsoft gave the consumer an option to have WIFI. Those were all seen as bad things by the gamers that preferred the PS3, and the 360 was $200 less, and those people were saying it should have all been included. Now they include the HDD, they include the WIFI, they include the HD optical drive and they include their camera.

So options...or no options....it's like one or the other...just can't win.

    A few points:

The ability to change the HDD should of been there from the beginning, instead MS opted to sell their own HDD's at ridiculous prices, so not many opted to increase their storage size.

WiFi SHOULD have been included with the initial release of the 360. If you wanted WiFi once again, you had to pay a ridiculous amount.

A HD optical drive should of been included from the beginning as well, instead they were stuck with the size restraints of DVD's.

And as for Kinect, many don't care. Outside of HDD's, WiFi, and an HD optical drive this is the one thing that can easily be a unanimous "choice" peripheral. You either want the abilities that come with it, or you don't. In today's day and age the rest should of been mandatory from the beginning. They need to keep this the same, have Kinect there for those who want it, and keep it away from the bundle for those who DO NOT want it. It will drive down the price, and it would increase their overall sales. It is mind boggling to me WHY they would force it on consumers, and make it a requirement just for system functionality. Ludicrous.

I personally am glad they are bundling the camera, the wifi, the hdd, the hd optical drive, the hdmi in and wifi direct. The only thing I would change is having them add a headset, even it is a disposable one like the one that come with the PS4. No chance in hell I am using Kinect 2 for my online communication in games. It sucked with Kinect 1.

I remember back when we got the Pong console, the Atari consoles, Coleco Vision consoles, Intellivison consoles. It was just that. Everything you wanted and needed, all in one box. No need to buy accessories. With Xbox One, I will be able to play every Xbox One game out of the box without a need to buy any accessories. It will just work day one. All Xbox One, Xbox One better with Kinect and Xbox One Kinect titles.

I miss the original console days to be honest.

Why are you playing the MS apologist? You're really gonna compare wifi, harddrive and bluray - to kinect? The 360 peripheral that, last time I checked, launched at a price of over $100?

Can you make a case - why gamers NEED kinect? Sorry, just have to call you out on that BS.
