My first edition slim PS3 keeps freezing up

I have the first slim PS3 and it's all the sudden freezing up on me. I've had to reset it twice since I got PlayStation Plus. Is this normal when on PlayStation Store?

This is really a small problem for me. When I reset it, everything goes back to normal. What I am most concerned with is my PS3's resale value. I'd really like to fix what's causing it to freeze up or else I won't get as much for it when I sell it in the future.

If all the updates are up to date for the playstation 3 and the ps store try deleting the ps store using the triangle buttion and hit delete. Then reinstall it. Some times i have to do that for PS Home.

So it's not my ps3, it's just PlayStation Store messing up. Thank you.

The new store is rubbish, your PS3 should be fine.

Mine froze the other day after removing a USB stick (and no nothing was transfering at the time), the new update sucks. And so does the PS Store which was an unnecessary "upgrade".

Yeah, I've had two freezes now, I know it's not a heat issue because not only is the PS3 fan barely noticeable (I've heard it get quite loud in hot weather) but the environment it's in is pretty cool. Really annoying.

It's only started this after this recent 'fix' to the patch that was bricking peoples consoles.

My PS3 slim freezes a fair amount and does all of that micro-pausing. It mainly does it during game menus and not on the XMB or store or even in-game (unless there is a lot of action on the screen).

I really hope they change the store either back to the old one or make useable again. I use my computer now to use the store cause its so bad on the PS3

Put a faster hdd in your PS3 and the store is as smooth as a baby's bottom.
Trust me the new store is fast and smooth might be time for a hdd upgrade, HDD's get slightly slower over time with heavy use they wear out like all mechanical parts.
