I pre-ordered my PS4 right after Sony's E3, on Amazon. That being said, I waited till the PS3 slim came out to even buy a PS3. These days I own every modern day console, a bunch of handhelds, the start of the next gen consoles if you count Wii U as next gen, and a gaming PC. Other than Killzone, I'm not really sure what PS4 games I'm interested in as all the multiplat games I could technically buy on PC.

Thus, I'd say I could actually wait a couple of years before buying a PS4 actually. I feel like I'm falling into the same trap I fell into with the 360, 3DS, Vita, and PSP; Buy early and have no games. However, now that its pre-ordered and I read articles about the PS4 pre-orders being sold out, I figure I might as well keep the pre-order.

My original reason for buying the ps4 was to play with some guys I know online before an unfortunate event made it hard for us to message each other.

There have been a lot of games announced for the PS4 already though. I wouldn't worry.

Well considering you're from the other forum, I'd assume you've come across a post of two of mine regarding the Ps4. My interests mainly lay in the exclusive and multiplayer FPS.

When I went to Gamestop the only confirmed exclusive, launch day games the guy knew about, were Drive Club and Killzone. Launch window games included Infamous, The Order, knack.

As we've seen with PS Vita and Ruin aka Warrior's Lair, things can change and get delayed / cancelled.

Out of the games there, I'm only interested in Killzone, Infamous, and the Order. Thus it could be mostly COD Ghosts getting played on my PS4 the first year anyhow.

Not a fan of BF to be honest. Its the game that got me into FPS games, on console. However, I bough BF3 on 360 after years of COD. The whole menu system, choosing servers and what not, when I just wanted a quick game of TDM, was just a turn off. I prefer fast paced, arcade shooters, it seems.

I want to get the PS4 as soon as it drops, but I have no faith in brand new electronics these days being quality regardless of the manufacturer.

It seems like the first year or so that a product is out is public beta testing time and I don't like spending my money to do QA for companies, and then spending my money again when the **** breaks and having to buy another.

It's going to be really damn difficult for me to hold off this time around though cause I WANT I WANT I WANT. However, I know the reality of new products and I want to see how many of these ****s fail and what gets done to fix the issues before I bite.

Plus, I usually only buy used games cause I don't see the point in paying $60 just to have a game right away when I can wait and find it anywhere from $15-$5. I almost never play games right away anyways cause I almost always have a backlog of around 10 games or so cause I find them for so cheap. I want to be able to get the new Infamous and Killzone for like $15. They'll be in the bargain bin eventually we all know this!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, and there are some really great games coming to the PS3, and great ones that are out now that I'm just waiting to pounce on when the price is right. There's nothing like walking into a place like EBgames and buying a great game for like $5 just cause it's a few years old. By that time the game is usually better than it was at launch cause of all the updates that often times fix some game breaking bugs.

The depreciation in games is ****ing insane!

I mean whats the rush to play Killzone:shadowfall or Driveclub? The order 1886 is coming out god knows when and Infamous:second son is coming out in 2014.
I dont care about multiplatform titles only exclusives so whats the point in getting a PS4 early?
I might feel a bit jaded cause of my old age {28} but thats my 2 cents.
Not me. Im 36 and want one as soon as it drops.

I don't mind waiting but I really want the PS4 asap so I pre ordered. I wouldn't be fazed if I couldn't get one tho. I wouldn't spend a penny over the retail price.

what's the point of playing driveclub at launch date? well, considering if you're into online games then the best time to get it is launch but 3 months down the road is "fine"...any more than 6 months and it better be an amazing title so you'll be missing out the fun.

like i said, if you're only into the single player of these games then yes, i get your point, otherwise it's not necessarily the better decision, it may be a decision that suits you better maybe.

single player games though, yea, you don't have to get those right away. sometimes better to wait out.

it seems that you're not into online gaming so this makes total sense. i would not be too excited either if i only want to play offline. that's really the point of this generation and even more so next.

I get my games pretty late like I mentioned above, and almost all of them continue to have pretty strong on-line. I've been surprised by some because I never thought they were popular in the first place and 1 or 2 years later there's lots of people still playing on-line.

I'll have to dissapoint you, I didn't really read the PS4-section because it isn't really active.

Yeah, it seems like there isn't a lot of choice in FPS-games on launch, but I'm sure some of them will keep you busy. If you buy another game with it, you'll be fine until Destinyl releases or some other game.

With these things? The sooner the better.

Anticipated consoles, games.. any media in particular. If you really want it, but suppress that hype for six months.. a year? I can guarantee you that you'll not have the same experience as the day 1-buyers. Neither do I believe that price will fall that fast or worse still, be worth that time holding out.

I'll make an example.. Albeit maybe not too precise, I feel it covers my sentiment. Had not my brother taken me to watch The Matrix at the movie theater when I was young (despite me being a couple of years under age lol), I don't think I would have the same fond memories of the movie.

The emotions and memories gained are by far worth it, IMO.

Getting mine on launch cos I'm an impulsive idiot hopefully I don't have to many beers and decide to put the Dual Shock 4 in the dishwasher again like I did with the DS3 controller.... Can't believe it worked like new after a full wash cycle PS controllers could last a monsoon.

It'll be worth the wait if the launch consoles start failing left and right like this gen. Nothing ruins ummm precious memories.... like death....of a console.

Honestly, it doesn't matter when you get it, it's exciting. It's even MORE exciting when there REALLY are great games to get when you get the system.

Also, I always feel like a chump when I buy something and a little while later the product is not only better but cheaper. I feel great when I wait. Oh, that rhymes!

Actually I should shut up, the more people paying top dollar and beta testing for me the better.

Logically they shouldn't fail more than last generation's consoles. They should be even better than the slim models.

You make a good point OP. I pre-ordered a PS4 with the potential to sell it . Hate all you want, but if it can give my family a free Christmas then so be it. Because of the OP's points, is why I can justify selling mine on day one.

Not to mention GTA5 keeping me busy for 6 months too.

Thats strange. My launch 20gb ps3 is still going strong, as well as other electronic devices I own. I think you just have a weird phobia or something. There is no way I would wait to buy a ps4 after seeing how awesome of a console it is.

I ordered three so no hate here. I'm selling two and keeping one for me. I don't think the profit will be the same as the ps3, but I know I will make money on them easily.
