I thought the online was pretty good. Even though I sucked at it, I found the maps, the solid connection, spawns and fast matchmaking to be solid.

I enjoyed some of the open maps on K3 especially the salvage yard with mechs, and jet packs. I hope some of that carries over, that forrest map was too claustrophobic for a Killzone map I hope they keep the online maps more open.

The nature of the PC, sadly, allows this to be so. Near the tail end of a console generation however, it's held back mostly by shoddy ports.

yup, sadly it's a never-ending situation...unless they start making OS just for gaming PCs and start selling/suggesting pre-built hardware so they only have support on those machines. at least it would be less of an issue.

even then they'd be stuck with the console cycle...due to the dying PC user base. either a big change is going to happen in the PC world or it would be irrelevant in the coming generations if things went OnLive way. I could see PC benefiting from that.

Wow... that is a gorgeous game. Really excited for this. :]

All concepts of self-improvement, all actions and paths we take, relate solely to our abstract image of ourselves. Life is limited only by how we really see ourselves and feel about our being. A great deal of pure self-knowledge and inner understanding allows us to lay an all-important foundation for the structure of our life from which we can perceive and take the right avenues.”

There are going to be so many games at launch that my head will start spinning trying to make up my mind on which to play first.

I hope they make the online more like KZ2, along with some stuff that BF3 has.
    They need to add/bring back:
    - Spawning on anyone in the squad
    - Deployable and destructible spawn beacons
    - Ammo boxes; either stationary or deployable
    - Lots of bullet spread to force short bursts
    - Spotting and marking just like in BF3
Almost everyone will say: buy console that has games that you want, and those who say otherwise are ignorant.

    Playstation Move for the win!

^never going to happen in a million years. It seems like GG do not care about gameplay...i'm sorry if this sounds harsh but i'm speaking about the top shooters out there and i think BF4 isn't good enough for next-gen but that's also my opinion but BF4 is still likely going to be far better than KZ:SF online.

I have no faith in GG. with this title, i feel like they're losing their one edge they had at least, over other titles...graphics. it looks great but not a head turner.

I think Killzone 2's mp lead is back with the team. If so then I'm going to be playing online for certain.

i've been following them for 10 years and i know it seems harsh but it's really what's likely going to happen. it might be good for a niche market but they will never hit it big, they don't know how to design the multiplayer to do that. they just don't have the skill to do it.

i have played just about all the best competitive shooters out there there is to play and it may seem harsh but it's just what it is.

now i think they can still pull of a great game...but that's a totally different topic.

..Killzone 2's MP was awesome. I never got to play KZ3 (personal regret of mine), but wasn't the MP for that solid too?

I feel confident that KZ:SF will, at the utter least, be competitive with other launch title FPS. Personally I feel it will smack the others around in the graphics department.

Remember how in Killzone 2 being intelligent meant you could change the course of a battle by planting a well-planned spawn point before some door or corner that suddenly gained your team a tactical advantage? Or how due to the heaviness of the guns the matches always felt very heavy, and alive? Or how the maps were so well designed that no matter how skilled or concealed a camper/team ambush/whatever might be, you could always flank them? Remember how Killzone 2's online was simply fantastic, and, at its best, felt like God's gift to online gaming?

Imagine the opposite of all that. That's Killzone 3.

Harsh, but my opinion. Killzone 3 was dog-$#@!, the result of GG losing their backbone and giving in to people who were vocal about their dislikes with the series instead of listening to the smaller, loyal crowd they'd already gained. I think Shadowfall, for all its merits, is still an extension of this--more color, more variety, lighter, snappier controls, and a world that doesn't look anything like what Killzone first championed... the series was unique because it had its own identity. With KZ3, they took that identity away, and with Shadowfall, I feel so far that they've only further made it look like every other shooter.

I hope Shadowfall blows my mind in the end, and the KZ2 multiplayer director being back on board is great news. But still, I feel like the series has tried to appeal to the wrong people instead of sticking to its strengths. Killzone 2 was the high-light and nothing since then has looked (or played) quite as good.

All just my two pennies, of course. On the flip-side, I think Mercenary looks great.

I remember a bunch of people trashing the gun mechanics. I never had a problem with it.

Talk about exaggerating :P I played both. Infact I got KZ2 on release day, and played plenty of MP. And I thought KZ3's MP was equally fun.

I just personally can't see the difference. Sure the maps and guns are different (+ the jetpacks and robots), but that's about it.

Well I guess it was perceived as controls but the heavyness of the gun that was said to add realism was bashed as saying it made the controls feel clunky.
