Oh good. It would of been a waste buying a separate one for the Playstation 4.

I would have expected nothing less.

That said, what I want to know is if they're coming out with a headset that supports 7.1 and voice chat that plugs into your controller (i.e. USB dongle free.) This is what I'm hoping, no scratch that, expecting from the EXT port on the back of the PS4 Controller next to the 3.5mm mono-headset-chat jack.

They are not just talking like "we are consumer friendly", showing with every chance they have, one hit and another. Good job.

Yeah, and Microsoft does the opposite. They purposely drop support for things like headsets, just so they can make money again on new proprietary hardware. Then immediately announce that they are working on an adapter to allow you to use your old headsets, which is funny, because why would they even do that if the new headset format is suppose to be this awesome, special thing they want you to use on next gen games? It's all about forcing more $$$ out of your pockets. Which is part of why they chose not to include headsets this time, they are hoping gamers fall for this trick and spend big $$$ on the new headsets designed for the new proprietary audio port.

Sony just makes as much PS3 accessories compatible with PS4 as possible off the bat. Move controllers, headsets, if you have a huge HDD in your PS3 that you want in your PS4 now - you can toss that in the PS4 too. And, I assume wired PS3 headsets will be compatible too, but will await confirmation.

So much backstep from Ms, feels like they are not actually prepared nextgen. Or by any chance they guessed sony act as greedy as they are. We will never learn these answers. But sony just saved my $100 with this move. a $100 that they will get from me with their games, not the same product that I already bought before. This is not a small matter. But I really wanna add, what ms did about headsets is just so wrong. Hope they will learn one or two things from sony through this gen.
