What part of, Canada do you live in? Hope your mother gets well soon.

Tornadoes have been striking at Oregon as of late which is very rare. In a span of one year we have had 3.

Good to hear. Hopefully it won't happen again. The chances should be pretty slim of it happening again. I'm glad you're safe man.

Storm chasing is my dream! I'm from NZ, all we get is earthquakes. We had a doozy the other day. I woke up to my bed shaking and doors slamming.

If i was you, I would hire someone to cut a bunch of trees down. I'm gonna do that once I put something on my land. That was so close, bro. I'm glad it didn't split your house though.

    Straight Line Wind Damage

As a major weather expert, I have to address some info I've just read in here that is either exaggerated or false. Some may remember my main hobby is weather in life and I hope to become a meteorologist one day.

On Friday it was crazy severe thunderstorm day in central and southern Ontario which is what the OP is referring to. I tracked this potential since 2 Monday's ago and then spent 13 hours almost non-stop following and reading about the multiple rounds of storms effecting Ontario and QC. It was a crazy day with so much going on it was nearly impossible to keep up. I know the areas that got hardest hit and all the data for it. I didn't get hit too bad but did have 3 thunderstorms in 12 hours. Nice cloud structures as well.

Did anyone actually see the tornado or did the winds just suddenly come in? I'm nearly 99% sure that was straight line winds your describing and consistent with what took place over many areas of Ontario on Friday. A ton of people claim a tornado when it was very high straight line winds from the gust front or microburst. Did you report this to Environment Canada to come out and check? It can come in unbelievably fast, especially bowing segments.

One of my top 3 goals or dreams in life is to see a tornado, always have always will. They are the #1 weather event that I love and its hopefully going to happen (me viewing one). Certain tornadoes give me goosebumps just watching or reading about them, an awe that nothing else comes close to. I think they are very scary if your stuck in one location or point with it coming at you as opposed to watching it from a distance or storm chasing.

Sounds like a cell but usually squall lines take longer before sunny weather appears again. Can you name a general location and time this all happened? I have so much radar data I could probably tell you what was going on and everything.

Are you sure about that? It would take a violent tornado (EF4+) to throw a car like that and certainly nothing that day had any tornado going above EF1 strength.

Where did you hear that? Nowhere from any official weather station or report from Environment Canad claims these extreme figures of either straight line wind damage or a tornado. I like all those decimal points put in there lol.

An EF0 can produce that level of vegetation damage easily. EF3 damage can rip houses in half, take roofs clean off moderately built structures, and throw vehicles a good distance, etc. While an EF3 can do what is shown, its improper to call it "EF3" damage when there is no evidence of that strength. There would be more damage to that house for sure though because of RFD winds and debris projection.

Those pictures posted do look almost exactly like what straight line wind damage produces. If I were to guess the winds that can cause that, maybe 110 km/h.

There were a lot of wall cloud and some funnel reports that day. Trees that are old and rotting inside by insects can fall more easily during high wind events so its possible only 80 km/h winds could have caused that. 6:37 pm is roughly when Brantford got hit with the first line of storms according to my radar. It also wasn't far from the Tail End Charley which is the end of the squall line.
