Neither batman or superman have moral standings in the universe, because they kill innocents to fight evil

So it makes no sense for them to be treated as moral beings

Half the reason a lot of people don't care about Superman is because he's the biggest boy scout of any comic book character. His morality code is obnoxiously perfect.

And he's over powered as sin, has an absurd origin story and his costume is.. Just, well, look at it.

The first part, exactly. And the movie aimed to make Superman more relatable. Take away the kryptonite and give him a weakness we all have.

I don't think his origin story is absurd especially when you consider Thor as a character or even the Hulk. Superman/Clark Kent is an alien that is refugee from his destroyed home world sent by his parents. IMO that's legit.

And his costume, how is that much different from other characters?

And any attempt to remove or lessen his power for the sense of threat and urgency not only comes off as being forced, but it also further distracts from the character he's already been established to be. The best way to make Superman likeable is give him greater character depth. He hates that he, with all his ungodly strength and speed, can't be there to save everyone -- that he cannot be as strong as he needs to be. He holds himself to an even higher standard, and it haunts him. It takes its toll on his mind and spirit.

That's my opinion anyway. I don't read comics.

And that's still his core, the movie didn't change that. It actually played up on that, rather than going the materialistic route with Kryptonite as his physical weakness.

But the music, production value, direction, and characters were stellar. Bruce Wayne was also interesting, his development and transition. But "Batman"? He was kind of the frame of the picture with which the colors and image stuck to. He was necessary and integral, but not altogether stellar.

Ra'as, Joker, Gordon, Dent, Fox and others- they really made it all shine.
ok now that I will agree with you on. the supporting characters/villains did make the movies that much better for sure. but, I still like batman. with today's society an "incorruptible" figure is just amazing to me, fiction or not
