Just look at kickstarter, they're Indies but they've made big blockbuster games in the past and need backing because they don't have a publisher.
So just because they are indie don't mean they aren't professionals.

Wasn't trying to imply they're not professional or not any good. They've indicated playtime for this to be 4-6 hrs, and by the look of the game it's of decent quality but still more of a typical PSN downloaded Indie game. Not that it's non-professional or bad, but it looks more like a 'Braid' type of game engine and graphics. I personally enjoyed Braid, but it's not going to stress the performance and memory limits of a console by any sense of the means.

So my point was that the question about how he's taking advantage of the 8GB of GDDR5 over the original 4GB is like asking me how I'm taking advantage of a Room Vault. I'm not Bill Gates, a small safe is more than adequate and anything larger I'm not going to be able to take advantage of.

They have zero confidence in themselves in this aspect, so rather than take some chances and form teams to work on something new - they just let big bags of money talk.

    2. Threatening devs with their games being locked out unless they don't add content or increase quality in any form on rival consoles, including not using extra blu-ray disc space on PS3.

    3. Creating the DLC-driven, money-grubbing mentality of publishers nowadays, where they take it to the extreme level of purposely locking out on-disc content for extra DLC revenue by claiming it was made on a separate DLC budget. In turn, ruining companies that use to be awesome for giving out free DLC to keep franchises alive, Epic Games being a perfect example.

    4. Effectively destroying variety of games top devs make, by urging them to milk 1 particular IP. Again, Epic Games being a perfect example, with having them abandon other IPs for so long and sticking with Gears Of War on 360. They basically killed off the UT3 community because of this, and never updating or adding content to it, it's nearly impossible to find a UT3 game on PC now, past UTs communities lasted years and years.

These are just a few things MS does wrong when it comes to the console wars.
1.) Partially true - Tossing money out for exclusives and timed exclusives is true, but they have built some quality 1st party dev teams.

2.) Speculative at best, we'd need to hear dev's come out and say they've been threatened. I think it's more a case of lazy devs not spending the effort to optimize for PS3, which if they're not going to make more money on the extra efforts then that's becomes a financial decision to be perfectly honest. As a gamer on the PS3 I dislike this as someone who lives and works in the real world, I understand this.

3.) I'll put this completely on the Devs shoulders and MS is no more responsibly than Sony in this area. LBP probably has the most available micro-transactions of any game out there (if not the most, then one of the most.) Home is a micro-transaction generator for Sony.

4.) Ever hear of Activision and Electronic Arts? Milking the **** out of profits on particular IPs isn't even close to be a MS driven item. Sony has done similar things.

While I don't care for MS policies and direction, I'm not goint to heap the industry issues completely on their shoulders.

i'm glad sony is the total opposite (for the most part) of this.
