They both squared up to each other and it looks like the punk kid blew smoke in the cops face.

Yeah, the soldier was being aggressive thinking "I can push this guy around, I can have this guy", turns out he he couldn't. Got what he deserved for trying to be a bully.

Most of the U.S. soldiers are stupid $#@!y $#@!s. Challenging a marine or ex marine is like trying to fight a bear.

so if someone complains to a cop that they took their time to get there "45 minutes", they deserve to get slapped, thrown to the ground, chest being crushed for a good long while and then apologize for the next 10 minutes due to the cop's ego trip?

    Gotcha!

don't forget, the cop stepped up to the soldier first and attacked first too.

I believe it was more to do with his attitude, of thinking this was just 'some cop', someone he decided he was better than and could push around.

Isn't it funny how quickly his attitude changed when he found out he wasn't all that.

The cops 'ego trip' was putting the soldier in his place, trying to teach him some manners.

that makes no sense. cops aren't there to teach you manners. they are there to do their job. they are servicepersons, not your parents. as long as you aren't a threat to them or doing something unlawful, they have no right to teach you anything.

Guy was a $#@!, cop was an even bigger $#@! n should have charges brought up against him.

If I'm attacked and call the police id be upset it took them nearly an hour to arrive too and then to be confronted and assaulted by the very service man I called for assistance? Yeah.... Protect and serve my ass.

Yeah, he has the right to remain silent. If he gives up his right to remain silent anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law. He has the right to an attorney. If he cannot afford an attorney then one will be provided to him by the courts.

Beyond that he does NOT have the right to get in a police officers face and yell and curse at him. As much as people may think this is something they can get away with, it is technically illegal and a police officer has every right to do exactly what these officers did. He represented a potential threat and the police were obligated to deal with the potential threat. The officer doesn't know this guy, he has no idea if the man is stupid enough to take a swing at him, but because of the dangers of police work he's forced to assume the guy is a threat and act accordingly.

These kind of things happen all the time. Not surprised the cop took action here, the kid was clearly out of line.

If you get up in a private citizens face yelling and cussing like that you just might get shot, and the person shooting you will get away with it because YOU are a potentially violent threat.

There is NEVER a case where getting right up in someone's face, yelling and cursing at them is acceptable.

And for the record, one small touch is assulting a police officer. Chest bumping him is definitely against the law.

    cute.

    he didn't.

do not think that's allowed in the U.S. maybe third world countries.
He represented a potential threat and the police were obligated to deal with the potential threat.
when would you say that he should be identified as a potential threat? when he said that they were late? should they have done the same to a woman? this was nothing but a sick cop taking out appeasing his personal ego.
The officer doesn't know this guy, he has no idea if the man is stupid enough to take a swing at him, but because of the dangers of police work he's forced to assume the guy is a threat and act accordingly.
there was no indication at any point that he was a threat. also they did not give him a warning either. yes, he did step up to the cop once the cop stepped up to him. that much i agree.
