    These screens look ok, but they have some pretty nasty things about them that make them feel like the game just isn't a full generational leap. It may be because the game is targeting 60fps like Battlefield and others, but it's still worth pointing out.

    Now that makes a lot more sense. I thought they might have been Metal Gear screens. It would have been pretty disappointing if that was the case.

    Maybe it should also be noted that we are comparing a game running at 900p/30fps native (Ryse) to a game that runs at 44% more pixels 1080p/30fps (still targeting 60fps) That's right folks, Ryse confirmed to be native 900p

    i wonder if that's 1600x900p (which is what i would assume), or the console practice of dropping pixels on a single axis then stretching; so 1920x900p?

    that is not good news though. i don't subscribe to the 60fps requirement, but im done with 720. i expect next-gen games to match the screen res of my TV at a native 1080p. im done with the upscaling workaround my TV's had to endure for most of this gen.

    i guess the XB1 does indeed struggle to maintain steady framerates at a 1080p buffer?

    I believe it's 1600x900p but as detailed by Greenberg the XB1 does the upscaling so your TV won't have to do the work. I don't think the X1 will suffer in the long run, devs will eventually optimize and take full advantage of the hardware. This is still a first gen title after all.

    meh resolution doesn't really break the game. they might look at it as a negative but it can't bring the score down much due to it. if they can get rid of the glitches, surely it will get over 8.0 to 9.0.

    I can't be the only one finding this poly count argument absurd.

    I'm sorry, but I have no interest in playing a game that is "X, X, Y, X, queue QTE" for every kill. The gameplay of Ryse looks utterly bland and boring. From all of the first-hand experience I've had of multiplayer and from what I've seen on screen for single player of Ryse... Color me rather unimpressed. Visuals for the models are damned nice, but that's about all I see the game has going for it. Have people actually enjoyed playing this game and see themselves holding on to it for more than a week?

    It seems like the merit of Ryse's value has been completely reliant on its graphics, which is rather absurd.

    Looks like Ryse characters aren't 150k triangles anymore. So now its only double the triangle count as Killzone. I wonder what happened to make it drop so many polygons.
